Look Nº 607 - A Christmas Carol

 A Pandemia e o confinamento decorrente tem o efeito de dispormos de todo o tempo do mundo, no meu caso, para me dedicar ao blog. E, a grande novidade é que este ano há Conto de Natal yeah!!! Eu sei que gostaram muito deste que escrevi aqui no Natal de 2018. Por isso resolvi apostar mais uma vez na minha veia de escritora cof cof cof!! Espero que gostem!!

 The Pandemic and the resulting lockdown has the effect of having all the time in the world, in my case, to dedicate myself to the blog. And, the big news is that this year there is A Christmas Carol, yeah!!! I know you liked this one that I wrote here for Christmas 2018. So I decided to bet once again on my vein as a writer cof cof cof!! Hope you like it!!

 O Embrulho

 

Era uma vez... num país não muito distante, mas também afectado pela Pandemia, que um jovem casal tenta organizar o Natal da forma mais feliz possível para a sua família. Ficou  decidido que não iriam à terra, como era de costume todos os anos, com a família toda reunida à volta da mesa! Este ano o Martim não iria ter os mimos dos avós e as brincadeiras com os primos. Como este cenário de afastamento já estava desenhado na cabeça deste jovem casal, decorrente da evolução da Pandemia, por isso usaram de toda a sua energia e criatividade para compensar o pequeno Martim. Tinha de ser um Natal especial e, que num momento de privação de afectos por parte dos avós, ele nunca mais esquecesse!!

Até que chega a tão desejada noite. As prendas estão embrulhadas debaixo da árvore, prontas a serem desvendadas.

- Mãe já posso ver? - Pergunta o Martim

- Sim Martim, acho que sim, ainda não é meia noite, mas acho que o Pai Natal não se vai importar!!

- Mas ó mãe eu já sei o que é! Aquela prenda maior é um pijama, a outra ao lado é aquela camisola que eu gostei na loja. Não há mais nada? um brinquedo...- disse aborrecido!

- Não Martim! Não há mais nada embrulhado, mas eu tenho um presente embrulhado num embrulho muito delicado e especial...

- Sim mãe diz lá o que é?? - interrompe o Martim competamente devorado pela curiosidade!

- Sabes... está embrulhado aqui na minha barriga Martim, sabes... a mamã está grávida e, tu vais ter uma irmã!!!

O Martim de olhos completamente arregalados murmura:

- Uma irmã??? - Com ar já de horror e, agora com  os olhos marejados de lágrimas consegue balbuciar qualquer coisa que não se percebeu... mas, respirou fundo e, a plenos pulmões grita:

- Então e a minha Play Station 5????

 Fim

The Wrap

Once upon a time ... in a country not far away, but also affected by the Pandemic, a young couple tries to organize Christmas in the happiest way possible for their family. It was decided that they would not go ashore, as usual every year, with the whole family gathered around the table! This year Martim wouldn't be pampered by his grandparents or play with his cousins. As this scenario of withdrawal was already drawn on the head of this young couple, due to the evolution of the Pandemic, so they used all their energy and creativity to compensate little Martim. It had to be a special Christmas and, in a moment of affection deprivation on the part of his grandparents, he would never forget !!

The much desired night finally arrives. The gifts are wrapped under the tree, ready to be unveiled.

- Mom can I see them already? - Asks Martin

- Yes Martin, I think so, it's not yet midnight, but I think Santa won't mind !!

- But mom, I already know what it is! That biggest gift is a pajama, the next one is that sweater I liked at the store. There's nothing else? a toy...- he said bored!

- No Martin! There is nothing else wrapped, but I have a gift wrapped in a very delicate and special package... 

- Yes mom say what it is?? - interrupts Martin competently devoured by curiosity!

- You know ... it's wrapped here in my belly Martin, you know ... mom is pregnant and, you're going to have a sister !!!  

Martin with his eyes wide open murmurs: 

- A sister??? - With an horror air and now with tears in his eyes, he is able to babble anything that was not noticed ... but, he took a deep breath and, at the top of his lungs, he screams: 

- So what about my Play Station 5????

 Quero partilhar, convosco, uma excelente notícia antes deste Natal que vai ficar marcado para sempre como o Natal do distaciamento social. E, a grande notícia é tcharan parece que vamos ter a vacina mais cedo do que era previsto (isto na Europa)! Não é que isso tenha alguma influência na logistica de vacinação de Portugal, onde a política parece ser "depois logo se vê". Enquanto países como a Alemanha preparam grandes pavilhões para realizarem vacinações em massa, aqui parece que nos ficamos pelos minúsculos centros de saúde!! Mas, a notícia neste momento é vacinas antes do tempo previsto! E, convém lembrar que o primeiro passo para a recuperação económica é precisamente VACINAR!! Eu até me podia ir vacinar com este vestido, o que vos parece?

 Este ano há carta para o Pai Natal, oh yes!! Fiz o exercício de imaginar como seria uma carta ao Pai Natal de um negacionista português. Atenção eu não sou negacionista, para que conste!

DISCLAIMER: Negacionismo é a escolha de negar a realidade como forma de escapar a uma verdade desconfortável.

 

 This year there is a letter to Santa Claus, oh yes!!! I did the exercise of imagining what a letter to Santa Claus from a Portuguese denialist would be like. Attention I'm not a denialist, for the record!

Querido Pai Natal,

Não sei se sabes, mas o mundo está mergulhado numa Pandemia que só existe na cabeça das pessoas menos esclarecidas, entre elas, contam-se a maioria dos governantes do mundo! É uma tristeza, mas é a verdade!

Acreditas Pai Natal, que estão todos fechados em casa, por causa de um vírus que só dá uma gripezinha! Cambada de piegas!! Está tudo doido acredita! Não é que andam todos de máscara, parecem parvos, eu recuso-me a usá-la, é completamente desnecessária para um vírus com tão baixo nível de perigosidade.

Eu sei Pai Natal, tu fazes parte do grupo de risco devido à tua idade, mas isso é o que eles dizem, não te preocupes é o delírio de quem só nos quer tirar a liberdade individual!

Sabes Pai Natal eu estou a escrever-te porque sei que andas ocupado com os presentes para as crianças e não sabes o que se passa no mundo, o que é um facto é que as crianças estão imunes ao vírus e não contagiam, não te preocupes! Eles querem é fechar as escolas é o que é!

Sabes... eu quero também pedir-te um presente... mas não sei como fazê-lo... olha o que eu quero mesmo é meter-te uma cunha... aqui vai, eu quero que me tragas de presente uma vacina da Moderna, isto em Portugal é coisa para demorar a chegar e eu quero ser dos primeiros! Ah e porque essa parece-me ser a melhor!

 

Não sei se estão a perceber a ironia desta carta! Feliz Natal para todos com muita saúde e sem COVID!

 Dear Santa, 

I don't know if you know, but the world is plunged into a pandemic that only exists in the minds of the least enlightened people, including most of the world's leaders! It's a sadness, but it's the truth! 

Believe me Santa, they are all closed at home, because of a virus that only gives a little flu! Bunch of mushy!! They are all crazy believe me! It's not that everyone wears a mask, they look silly, I refuse to use it, it's completely unnecessary for a virus with such a low level of danger.

I know Santa, you are part of the risk group due to your age, but that's what they say, don't worry it's the delusion of someone who just wants to take away our individual freedom!

You know Santa, I'm writing to you because I know that you are busy with children gifts and you don't know what's going on in the world, what is a fact is that children are immune to the virus and don't get infected, don't worry ! They want to close schools is what it is! 

You know ... I also want to ask you for a gift ... but I don't know how to do it ... look what I really want... you know... pull a few strings ... I want you to bring me a gift... the Moderna vaccine!! The vaccine will take a long time to arrive in Portugal and, I want to be one of the first to be vaccinated! Oh and because that seems to be the best one!

 

I don't know if you understand the irony of this letter! Merry Christmas to everyone in health and without COVID!

Hoje quero-vos falar do blog da minha amiga Ivana, chama-se A little place to call my own. A Ivana é uma professora de línguas e tradutora, mas tem uma paixão por arte, o seu hobbie é desenhar. É da Bósnia Herzgovina, nunca pensei ter uma amiga da Bósnia, o mundo dos blogs é maravilhoso! Continuando, a Ivana faz bonitas ilustrações de moda, tem até uma rubrica no seu blog que se chama Inspired by... A Ivana surpreendeu-me com um dos seus belos desenhos, em que desta vez EU fui a inspiração!! A sério!! Ela escolheu um dos looks que postei aqui no blog e, que gostei muito de fotografar, para se inspirar!! Fiquei também surpreendida pelos comentários, a maioria das bloggers conhece o meu trabalho e gosta muito, não é fantástico?

Continuing, Ivana makes beautiful fashion illustrations, there is even a rubric on her blog called Inspired by... Ivana surprised me with one of her beautiful drawings, in which this time I was the inspiration !! Seriously!! She chose one of the looks I posted here on the blog and, which I really liked to photograph, to be inspired !! I was also surprised by the comments, most bloggers know my work and like it a lot, isn't it fantastic?

 

 Quanto ao meu look, já todas as minhas amigas bloggers sabem que eu não gosto de usar calções, não consigo sentir-me confortável e segura com eles, mas resolvi sair da minha zona de conforto e vestir este modelo um pouco mais comprido da perna, parece uma saia. É em eco pele e muito confortável, eu própria fiquei admirada comigo!! Por vezes fazemos ideias erradas sobre as roupas, ou por preconceito, ou por acharmos que já não temos idade para vestir determinadas roupas, mas lembrem-se a idade é só um número, a nossa idade está na nossa cabeça e na capacidade de nos adaptarmos a novas situações!!

E vocês também costumam arriscar na roupa que vestem?? Contem-me tudo nos comentários estou curiosa para saber!!!

 

As for my look, all my blogger friends already know that I don’t like wearing shorts, I can’t feel comfortable and safe with them, but I decided to get out of my comfort zone and wear this slightly longer leg model, it looks like a skirt. It is in eco leather and very comfortable, I was amazed myself !! Sometimes we have wrong ideas about clothes, either because of prejudice, or because we think we are no longer old enough to wear certain clothes, but remember age is just a number, our age is in our head and the ability to adapt to new situations !!
