É Haloween, maltinha! Essa tradição tão portuguesa, só que não! Mas por falar em tradição, aqui no blog é celebrado há vários anos! Porquê? Porque eu acho piada à brincadeira e tenho um espírito de não acreditar em super poderes e no sobrenatural. Contudo, acredito que existem pessoas malévolas ao ponto de lançarem maldições sobre os outros, isso sim, uma tradição muito portuguesa!
It's Halloween, guys! That very Portuguese tradition, not really! But speaking of tradition, here on the blog it has been celebrated for several years! Why? Because I find the joke funny and I have a spirit of not believing in superpowers and the supernatural. However, I do believe that there are people who are malicious enough to cast curses on others, which is indeed a very Portuguese tradition!
A mim podem lançar, à vontade, maldições, que quem está com Deus está protegido! Ou não! Ele também nos coloca à prova e desafia os nossos limites! Nesta noite de Haloween, os espíritos, as almas penadas, andam a vaguear pelas ruas! BU!!

I'm not leaving my crypt. I enjoy playing Miss Spider in this haunted mansion, that superheroine who defends the outcasts and has the superpower of turning the evil eye into a simple pumpkin, so good for making some porridge! BOO!

Então é assim, eu acho que fui vítima de uma bruxaria, acreditem se quiserem, mas eu acho que sim! Certo dia, quando fui à minha varanda, encontrei algo estranho: num vaso de uma planta estava um relógio novo, brilhava muito com o sol e ainda tinha a película colada no mostrador. Achei estranho, mas ignorei. Porém, noutro dia, apareceu, também na varanda, uma camisola toda cheia de nós. E vocês sabem, nós simbolizam problemas, emaranhados, dificuldades. E com isto compreendi que o relógio simbolizava o tempo que faltava para essas dificuldades aparecerem...
Para estes objectos aparecerem na minha varanda, das duas uma, ou alguém entrou pela minha casa e colocou-os lá, ou subiu uma escada e deixou-os lá. A camisola, talvez, possa ter sido atirada pelo ar, mas o relógio... se tivesse sido atirado ter-se-ia partido. Estranho no mínimo! Apesar disto, quero esclarecer-vos que não acredito em bruxas nem em feitiços ou bruxarias. Mas passo a apresentar-vos a BRUXA!! Bu!!
For these objects to have appeared on my balcony, one of two things could have happened: either someone broke into my house and put them there, or they climbed up a ladder and left them there. The jumper may have been thrown through the air, but the watch... if it had been thrown, it would have broken. Strange, to say the least! Despite this, I want to make it clear to you that I don't believe in witches or in spells or witchcraft. But let me introduce you to the WITCH! Bo!
Para mim ninguém tem o poder sobrenatural sobre outra pessoa, disso tenho a certeza. E, na minha casa, nunca ninguém desejou o mal de ninguém. Porém, o que aconteceu? O relógio e a camisola apareceram ali... sem explicação! "Eu não acredito em bruxas, mas que as há, há!!!!", como se costuma dizer!
As far as I'm concerned, nobody has supernatural power over another person, that's for sure. And in my house, no one has ever wished evil on anyone. But what happened? The watch and the jumper just appeared... without explanation! "I don't believe in witches, but they do exist!!!!" as they say!
In small parts of Portugal, it's still common to see people resorting to witches. Only ignorant, evil and uneducated people think they can change the fate of others with curses. These witches believe or pretend to believe - and make others believe - that they have the power to cast bad luck, illnesses, spells, anything just to see evil happen to others.
I feel sorry that this kind of ignorance still lives on like a shadow from the past. I believe in Good, in Light, in Happiness - because only someone who walks in darkness can think of such destructive acts. So, if someone tried something evil on me, all I can say is: you're an ignorant miserable wretch!!! 
Apesar de eu ter adoecido, ter descoberto que padecia de uma doença grave e ter passado por muitas dificuldades, não acredito que isto foi resultado de uma bruxaria, eu acho que foi só uma coincidência!
Although I fell ill, found out I had a serious illness and went through many difficulties, I don't believe this was the result of witchcraft, I think it was just a coincidence!
E assim termina a minha história de Halloween... espero que tenham gostado, quem avisa amigo é, tomem cuidado ao voltar para casa hoje à noite. BUUUUUUUU!!

Em Portugal, o Halloween não é tradicionalmente celebrado como em outros lugares do mundo. A cultura portuguesa tem as suas próprias festividades, como o Carnaval e o Dia de Todos os Santos, que muitas vezes têm um papel mais importante no calendário festivo. No entanto, ao longo dos anos, por influências culturais e comerciais, o Halloween tem vindo a ganhar adeptos, mais nas zonas urbanas e entre as camadas mais jovens! Como este blog é mais internacional que nacional - dizem as estatísticas - eu decidi celebrar o Halloween com uma história de terror e horror!!!
In Portugal, Halloween is not traditionally celebrated in the same way as in other parts of the world. Portuguese culture has its own festivities, such as Carnival and All Saints' Day, which often play a more important role in the festive calendar. However, over the years, due to cultural and commercial influences, Halloween has been gaining followers, more so in urban areas and among the younger generation! As this blog is more international than national - statistics say - I decided to celebrate Halloween with a horror story!!!
- Who are you, illuminated pumpkin? Why are you invading my realm of shadows tonight?
- Ah, spider woman, I am the spark in the darkness, the light in the dance of darkness. I've come to challenge your web with my brilliance hahahaha!!!
