Look Nº 535 - Mother's Day Gift Tip!

No próximo domingo é Dia da Mãe, então, hoje resolvi que era dia de dar-vos uma dica de prenda para as vossas mães. Sabem aquele tipo de presente que nós damos às mães e, que depois nós também podemos usar, quem nunca? Ahahhaha!!

Next Sunday is Mother's Day in Portugal, so today I decided that it was a good day to give you a gift tip to your mothers. You know that kind of gift that we give to mothers and, that later we can also use, who ever? Ahahhaha !!

 Estou a falar de uma peça de vestuário intemporal, um clássico da moda, que todas as marcas têm nas suas colecções. Estou a falar da "gabardina" ou o trench-coat para as fashionistas. A gabardina foi inventada em 1879 por Thomas Burberry, criador da casa de moda Burberry, em Basingstoke, e registou a sua patente em 1888. É claro que uma gabardina Burberry não é para qualquer carteira, mas as imitações não lhe ficam a dever nada.

Look Nº 534 - The Pandemic Diary!

Ver televisão durante a Pandemia é um autêntico exercício de auto-flagelação. Não há quem aguente as notícias dos mortos contados ao minuto.

Watching tv during Pandemic is an authentic exercise of self-harm. There is no one who can stand the news of the dead counted to the minute.

Se é importante tratar destes doentes, não menos importante é tratar os que já estavam doentes com outras comorbilidades - o meu caso - e, outros, ainda, que já estarão doentes, nomeadamente com cancro, mas que ainda não sabem, isto porque todos os exames de diagnóstico foram suspensos. 

If it is important to treat these patients, it is no less important to treat those who were already sick with other comorbidities - my case - and, still others, who will already be sick, namely with cancer, but who still don't know, because all diagnostic tests have been suspended.

Como as notícias dizem-nos que apenas estamos no ínicio da Pandemia, a menos que por obra e graça do menino Jesus, o vírus desapareça no verão, tal como aconteceu com a SARS em 2003. É minha opinião que nenhum expert na matéria está em condições, ou tem o conhecimento, para prever o que quer que seja, pois estamos no domínio do desconhecido, não se sabe como o vírus se comporta e, esta é a grande verdade!!

As the news says that we are only at the beginning of the Pandemic, unless due to the work and grace of the baby Jesus, the virus disappears in the summer, as happened with SARS in 2003. It's my opinion that no expert in the field is in the position, or have the knowledge, to predict anything, as we are in the domain of the unknown, it's not known how the virus behaves and, this is the great truth!!

 Na minha modesta opinião acho que as autoridades deviam dedicar alguns hospitais em exclusividade para tratar o Covid-19 , à semelhança do que se fez para a tuberculose e, os outros hospitais tratariam as outras doenças. Eu, que no ínicio do ano achava que o ano 2020 seria o ano em que finalmente os médicos me iriam "consertar", afinal está tudo adiado e a minha qualidade de vida seriamente afectada. Um desafio e, se contassemos as pessoas que morreram durante este período e, que se viram privadas de tratamento? Continuo a vestir verde para que a esperança nunca se acabe!!! E, já agora, gostam do meu Kimono em veludo bordado? Adivinhem de que marca é?? Contem-me tudo nos comentários, vou adorar saber!!

In my humble opinion, I think the authorities should dedicate some hospitals exclusively to treat Covid-19, similarly to what was done for tuberculosis, and other hospitals would treat other diseases. I, who at the beginning of the year thought that the year 2020 would be the year when doctors would finally "fix" me, after all everything is postponed and my quality of life is seriously affected. A challenge and, if we count the people who died during this period and who were deprived of treatment? I keep wearing green so that hope never ends!!! Look Nº 533 - Liberty in Wonderland!!

Postei uma foto destas no Instagram e uma amiga minha comentou-a dizendo que eu parecia uma fada. Foi mesmo esse o meu propósito, criar uma atmosfera mágica um pouco ao estilo de Alice no País das Maravilhas. A natureza e as cores em harmonia.

I posted one of this photos on Instagram and a friend of mine commented on it saying that I looked like a fairy. That was really my purpose, to create a magical atmosphere a little bit like Alice in Wonderland. Nature and colors in harmony.

 Também li algures, alguém dizer que não se constrói nada sentado no sofá, o que é uma grande verdade!! É preciso ir trabalhar e levantar a economia, mas será que isso não nos vai conduzir a uma situação catastrófica como a que vimos acontecer na Itália e na Espanha? Se não for feita a pedagogia de como nos podemos portar daqui para a frente, o distanciamento social, o uso generalizado de máscara, a higiene das mãos, no fundo conviver com o vírus. A abertura da economia pode originar uma segunda vaga da doença muito mais mortal e violenta que a primeira.

I also read somewhere, someone saying that nothing is built while sitting on the couch, which is a great truth !! We have to go to work and raise the economy, but won't that lead to a catastrophic situation like the one we saw in Italy and Spain? If there is no pedagogy on how we can behave from now on, social distance, the widespread use of masks, hand hygiene, basically living with the virus. The opening of the economy may give rise to a second wave of the disease much more deadly and violent than the first.

Neste momento os governantes dos países, imagino que estejam num dilema sobre o que fazer, por um lado a pressão da economia para a sua reabertura, por outro, o controlo da doença. Não queria estar-lhes na pele!!

Mas no meio deste lockdown há um oásis, um mundo mágico, imune a qualquer vírus, chama-se Assembleia da Republica e é lá que vai ser comemorado o Dia da Liberdade português!! Espero que a segunda vaga não comece precisamente aqui, no Parlamento!!

Right now the governments of the countries, I imagine they are in a dilemma about what to do, on the one hand, the pressure of the economy to reopen, on the other, the control of the disease. I didn't want to be in their shoes !!

But in the middle of this lockdown there is an oasis, a magical world, immune to any virus, it is called the Assembly of the Republic and it is there that the Portuguese Freedom Day will be celebrated!! I hope the second wave does not start precisely here, in the Parliament!!

Perante esta realidade, eu quero mesmo é alhear-me do que se passa e viver num mundo de fantasia, magia e do fantástico, não quero viver este momento, isto para manter a minha sanidade mental!! Será que foi isto que passou pela cabeça dos nossos governantes, para irem festejar a Liberdade no Parlamento!! Será que eles acham que lá estão na toca do coelho da Alice???

In view of this reality, I really want to stay away from what is happening and live in fantasy, magic and fantastic world, I don't want to live this moment, this to maintain my sanity !! Did this happen in the minds of our government, to go celebrate Freedom in Parliament!! Do they think they are in Alice's rabbit hole???

Look Nº 532 - V Day!

Quero testar a vossa atenção relativamente a estas fotos. Digamos que é uma vitória minha, ainda uma vitória pequenina que só pode ser assim mostrada. Estou muito feliz, porque cheguei a duvidar que este dia voltaria à minha vida. Apesar de ter sido um momento muito breve, porque foi só o tempo de tirar estas fotos, mas posso-vos dizer que foi uma sensação muito boa. Vocês já devem estar a morrer de curiosidade, right? Isto porque não estão a ver nada de diferente nas minhas fotos!! Aposto!!

I'm very happy, because I doubted that this day would return to my life. Although it was a very brief moment, because it was just the time to take these photos, but I can tell you it was a very good feeling. You must already be dying of curiosity, right? Conseguiram perceber alguma coisa diferente em mim? Não conseguiram? Voltem atrás e vejam de novo. Já viram? É isso mesmo, estou sem a bota yeah!!! Já consigo calçar sapatilhas e dar uns passinhos, não é fantástico?? O meu pé já consegue caminhar sem as muletas mas.... atenção, isto foi só para estas fotos, a bota está ali atrás da árvore ehehheh!!

I can already put on sneakers and take a few steps, isn't it amazing?? My foot can already walk without the crutches but... attention, this was just for these photos, the boot is there behind the tree ahahhah !!

 O que quero com isto é dizer-vos que por vezes, por muito díficil que seja a nossa vida, o importante é acreditar, é ter esperança! Está quase a fazer um ano que caí, mas nunca deixei de acreditar que voltaria a calçar sapatilhas, apesar de um médico ter dito que nunca mais largaria a bota e as muletas!! Por isso, acreditem sempre, tenham esperança, porque nós também vamos vencer este maldito vírus e, no dia que isso acontecer vamos fazer uma grande festa, como a que eu fiz quando calcei estas sapatilhas YEAH!!!!!

What I want to do with this, is to tell you that sometimes, however difficult our lives may be, the important thing is to believe, to have hope! It's been almost a year since I fell, but I never stopped believing that I would put on sneakers again, even though a doctor said to me that I would never let go of his boot and crutches again!! So, always believe, always have hope, because we will beat this damn virus too and, on the day that happens we will have a big party, like the one I did when I put on these sneakers YEAH!!!!!

Look Nº531 - Easter Day Look!

Espero que tenham um excelente domingo. Deixo-vos com o meu look de Dia de Páscoa. Foi uma reciclagem de itens que já pertenciam ao meu guarda roupa. Uma nova combinação et voilá um look chique para um dia importante! Apesar de não ter saído de casa, isso não significa que agora sejamos umas preguiçosas vestidas o dia todo e, a semana, de pijama. Normalmente quando não me arranjo e fico de pijama é quando o dia corre mal e eu fico, como se diz, a trepar pelas paredes. Foi o que aconteceu com a minha franja, estava tão mal disposta que resolvi agarrar na tesoura e zac!! Uma tesourada no cabelo! Não está perfeito, mas até gostei do resultado e de me ver de franja. E vocês, gostam do novo penteado? Contem-me tudo nos comentários, vou adorar saber!!

I hope you have an excellent Sunday. I leave you with my Easter Day look. It was a items recycling of that already belonged to my wardrobe. A new combination et voilá a chic look for an important day! Although I didn't leave home, that doesn't mean that now we are lazy girls dressed all day, and week, in pajamas. Usually when I don't get dressed up and I'm in my pajamas I get in a bad mood, as they say, to go bananas. That´s what happened with my bangs, I was with so bad mood that I decided to grab the scissors and cut!! A scissors in the hair, is not perfect, but I even liked the result and liked to see myself with bangs. Do you like the new hairstyle? Tell me everything in the comments, I would love to know!

Look Nº 530 - This is not invented!

Este post é a continuação do anterior e, vem a propósito de um comentário que foi feito. Nesse comentário era dito o seguinte: "... só porque as pesssoas têm determinada profissão devem ganhar menos...". 

This post is a continuation of the previous one due to a comment that was made. In that comment the following was said: "... just because people have a certain profession they should earn less ...".

Eu não digo em lado nenhum que as pessoas têm de ganhar menos, até porque em Portugal a esmagadora maioria das pessoas são mal pagas, muito mal pagas, reforço isso. Eu estava a referir-me à ambição, à ganância que muitas destas pessoas, as mais bem pagas demonstram, quanto mais têm, mais querem e, nunca, nunca estão satisfeitas.

I don't say anywhere that people have to earn less, because in Portugal the overwhelming majority of people are underpaid, very underpaid, I reinforce that. I was referring to the ambition, the greed that many of these people, the highest paid, demonstrate, the more they have, the more they want and, never, are never satisfied.

 Repare-se que a Júlia Pinheiro, para além do trabalho que tem na televisão resolveu que também queria ser actriz. Montou uma peça na qual era a protagonista - Monólogos da Vagina - e foi em digressão pelo país, ao mesmo tempo que mantia o emprego na televisão. Resultado, o seu corpo não aguentou, deu-lhe um biribaque e teve que desistir dos espectáculos da sua peça de teatro. Agora mete-se com um programa de rádio, parece que também anda a escrever um livro e, sabe-se lá que mais!!! Desculpem, mas como diz o outro "Isto não se inventa"! A isto chama-se soberba!!

Note that Júlia Pinheiro, in addition to her work on television, decided that she also wanted to be an actress. She was the protagonist of a play- The Vagina Monologues - and went on tour around the country, while keeping her job on television. As a result, his body could not stand it, she was sick and had to give up the shows. Now she gets involved with a radio program, it seems that she's also writing a book and, who knows what else !!!  Há um exemplo na televisão de uma pessoa que poderia ter esta soberba também, porque o que faz, faz bem feito e, é linda de morrer!!! Estou a falar na Catarina Furtado que ocupa o seu tempo livre com acções de solidariedade e, tem uma associação "Corações com Coroa" onde desenvolve um trabalho muito meritório em prol das crianças mais desfavorecidas.

There is an example on television of a person who could have this pride too, because what she does, she does it well and, she is  very beautiful, to die for!!! I am talking about Catarina Furtado who occupies her free time with solidarity actions and has an association "Hearts with Crown" where she develops a very meritorious work for the most disadvantaged children.
