Look Nº 781 - Heritage

Olá! Ainda não estou a tirar fotos, estas são das que tenho guardadas no arquivo, mas ó são bem bonitas! Elas foram tiradas com telemóvel, num dia em que fui ao Porto fazer um exame médico. Na vinda, eu que já tinha ouvido falar na história desta igreja, resolvemos passar por lá e, não é que valeu a pena, porque esta igreja é bastante instagramável. Ora, digam lá que não é? Olhem só para estas cores!! A história recente desta igreja é curiosa porque até há poucos anos ela era completamente desconhecia, mas um dia, um canal de TV foi lá fazer a transmissão em directo de uma Eucaristia e, Portugal pasmou com a sua beleza, desde esse dia que passou a fazer-se uma romaria para visitar tão belo monumento, é claro que o instagram fez o resto. É que de facto ter uma foto aqui junto destes tão belos azulejos faz toda a diferença. E, que diferença, a igreja passou a estar aberta todos os dias da semana para receber a tal romaria de instagrammers e não só!

Hi, I'm not taking pictures yet, these are the ones I have stored in my archive, but they are pretty nice! They were taken with a cell phone, on a day when I went to Porto for a medical examination. On the way back, I had already heard about the history of this church, so we decided to stop by and, it's not that it was worth it, because this church is very instagrammable. Well, tell me it's not? Look at these colors!!! The recent history of this church is curious because until a few years ago it was completely unknown, but one day, a TV channel went there to broadcast a Eucharist live and Portugal was amazed by its beauty, since that day it has been a pilgrimage to visit such a beautiful monument, of course instagram did the rest. In fact, having a photo here next to these beautiful tiles makes all the difference. And, what a difference, the church is now open every day of the week to receive the pilgrimage of instagrammers and not only!

 

Então, vamos às apresentações, apresento-vos a Igreja Matriz de Válega. Válega é uma freguesia da cidade de Ovar. Ovar, por sua vez, é a capital do azulejo em Portugal. E, tudo nesta igreja é curioso, ela tem as traseiras voltadas para a rua principal e a fachada principal, esta que estão a ver, está voltada para o cemitério, o portão que estão a ver é, mesmo, o portão do cemitério! Para quem pensa que estes azulejos têm a idade da igreja, é mentira, são muitos mais novos. A igreja data de 1746 e os azulejos só foram colocados em cerca de 1950. O enrequecimento interior e exterior da Igreja deveu-se, sobretudo, a um empresário de Válega que fez fortuna no Porto, mas houve outros beneméritos. Válega é também terra de emigrantes no Brasil, estes trouxeram as madeiras exóticas que forram o tecto. Bem esta informação para os revisionistas históricos já devem estar a odiar esta igreja! Mas a história é assim e temos que aceitar o que aconteceu!

So, let's get to the introductions, I present to you the Mother Church of Válega. Válega is a parish in the city of Ovar. Ovar, in turn, is the tile capital of Portugal. And, everything in this church is curious, it has the back facing the main street and the main façade, the one you are seeing, is facing the cemetery, the gate you are seeing is the gate of the cemetery! For those who think that these tiles are as old as the church, it is a lie, they are much younger. The church dates from 1746 and the tiles were only laid in about 1950. The interior and exterior decoration of the church was mainly due to a businessman from Válega who made his fortune in Porto, but there were other benefactors. Válega is also home to emigrants from Brazil, who brought the exotic woods that line the ceiling. Well this information for the historical revisionists must already be hating this church! But history is like that and we have to accept what happened!

Este post é também um post da máquina do tempo. Vamos viajar para o dia 08/05/2022, lembro-me perfeitamente deste dia, foi Dia de Páscoa e foi a primeira vez que apostei num look pijama, adorei! É um look bastante prático e confortável. Como podem constatar tanto se pode apostar na sofisticação do look, como se pode estar bastante prática a turistar por aí!

E, agora deixo-vos fotos do interior da Igreja de Válega, cujas fotos ficam áquem da real beleza deste templo, não vos vou contar mais nada, porque na Igreja vendem um livrinho com toda a história desta Igreja, por isso vão até lá, tirem fotos e ajudem a divulgar este património.
