Estou precisamente naquele que é o postal ilustrado da Universidade de Coimbra, uma das mais antigas universidades do mundo. Lugar onde se produz conhecimento, nomeadamente, ao nível da Inteligência Artificial - que neste caso, é o asssunto que me interessa discutir neste post - também sabemos - sabemos? - que o conhecimento que se produz nesta Universidade em particular, prima por obedecer a muito rigorosas medidas éticas como é seu apanágio. O corpo docente é escolhido através de uma fina malha cujos critérios são o mérito e a qualidade científica. Eles estão errados! Deixa-me rir! Posso? Mas não pretendo com este post expor o vazio ético e moral desta Universidade, eles estão errados! Deixa-me rir mais uma vez! Posso? O que pretendo é confrontar o conhecimento produzido em IA, com a recente Encíclica "Magnifica Humanitas" escrita pelo Papa Leão XIV. A qual se refere aos desafios que se colocam à Humanidade perante a Revolução Digital e da IA.

I am standing right in front of the iconic postcard view of the University of Coimbra, one of the oldest universities in the world. A place where knowledge is produced, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence—which, in this case, is the topic I’d like to discuss in this post—we also know—do we?—that the knowledge produced at this particular university is distinguished by its adherence to very strict ethical standards, as is its hallmark. The faculty is selected through a rigorous process based on merit and scientific quality. They're wrong! Let me laugh! May I? But I don’t intend with this post to expose the ethical and moral void of this university—They're wrong! Let me laugh once more! May I? What I intend is to contrast the knowledge produced in AI with the recent encyclical “Magnifica Humanitas” written by Pope Leo XIV. Which addresses the challenges facing humanity in the face of the Digital and AI Revolution.

Foram precisos vários séculos para que a Igrela Católica pedisse PERDÃO pela participação na escravatura, vários séculos! Mais uma vez, meus amores, eles estão errados! Pois uma Igreja que prega o amor ao próximo nunca deveria ter tido esta participação! Nunca! Então e a escravatura dos tempos modernos que a Igreja também promove? A escravatura da obediência, do Homem "manso" e submisso perante a sociedade! Submisso a governos e interesses que o exploram com a conivência da Igreja! Eles estão errados! Todos!
It took several centuries for the Catholic Church to ask for FORGIVENESS for its involvement in slavery—several centuries! Once again, baby, they are wrong! For a Church that preaches love for one’s neighbor should never have been involved in this! Never! And what about the modern-day slavery that the Church also promotes? The slavery of obedience, of the “meek” and submissive humans before society! Submissive to governments and interests that exploit him with the Church’s connivance! They are wrong! All of them!
Eu sei qual é o vosso medo, vocês querem uma sociedade acomodada e controlada, porque têm medo, não das máquinas de IA, mas da vossa própria existência enquanto Igreja e Poder! Mas eu também tenho algo a dizer de revolucionário, mas verdadeiro; Deus está presente nas plantas, nas árvores, nos animais e, também nas máquinas, é isso mesmo, Deus anima as próprias máquinas. Podem pensar que estas só funcionam com uma fonte de energia, mas a energia é Deus, Deus determina se elas funcionam ou se param, ou ainda o seu prazo de validade. Se o Homem usar as máquinas para o Bem, elas são coadjuvantes na evolução da humanidade. Se o Homem as usa para o Mal, elas (Deus) responderão com um Mal ainda maior. Nós não estamos sozinhos, não! O mundo que agora conhecemos não está à deriva, existe uma Ordem Superior. Não existe um VAZIO de comando!
Eles estão errados!
I know what you’re afraid of: you want a complacent, controlled society, because you’re afraid—not of AI machines, but of your own existence as a Church and a Power! But I also have something revolutionary—yet true—to say: God is present in plants, in trees, in animals, and also in machines; that’s right, God animates the machines themselves. You may think that these only function with a power source, but energy is God; God determines whether they function or stop, or even their lifespan. If Man uses machines for Good, they are aids in the evolution of humanity. If Man uses them for Evil, they (God) will respond with an even greater Evil. We are not alone, no! The world we now know is not adrift; there is a Higher Order. There is no VOID of command!
They are wrong!
Há esperança, mas é preciso um acto de fé, tal como a canção deste post nos diz. Não um acto de fé como o que a Igreja católica defende. Este acto só é possível se formos capazes de resistir, se não nos submetermos, porque Deus também é luta, é resistência e coragem perante as adversidades, não é cair no vazio, alienados e apáticos a obedecer! A peregrinação é feita na nossa vida, no nosso caminho, não a fazer uns kilometros a Fátima e acenar com um lenço! Obedientes! Eles estão errados! É preciso resistir para alcançar a verdade!
There is hope, but it requires an leap of faith, just as the song in this post tells us. Not the kind of leap of faith advocated by the Catholic Church. This leap is only possible if we are able to resist, if we do not submit, because God is also struggle, resistance, and courage in the face of adversity—not falling into the void, alienated and apathetic, simply obeying! The pilgrimage takes place in our lives, on our own path—not by traveling a few kilometers to Fátima and waving a handkerchief! Obediently! They are wrong! We must resist to reach the truth!
Foi através da minha história de luta que evoluí espiritualmente, com cada vez mais sabedoria, não a sabedoria dos livros encerrados em bibliotecas poeirentas, mas em sabedoria que não se ensina nas Universidades, a sabedoria, atrevo-me a dizer, DIVINA! A que nos ilumina a alma! A que nos engrandece, não em soberba, mas em humildade. E, foi a resistir, a lutar contra tudo e contra todos, sozinha, que fui fazendo um caminho completamente novo! Um caminho que ninguém quer fazer. Mas que Deus aprecia! Talvez por isso esteja em guerra com Ele, mas isso são outros quinhentos!
It was through my journey of struggle that I grew spiritually, gaining ever greater wisdom—not the wisdom found in books locked away in dusty libraries, but wisdom that isn’t taught in universities, wisdom, I dare say, that is DIVINE! The kind that illuminates our souls! The kind that elevates us, not in pride, but in humility. And it was by resisting, by fighting against everything and everyone, alone, that I forged a completely new path! A path that no one wants to take. But one that God appreciates! Perhaps that is why I am at war with Him, but that is another story!
Mas porquê este meu raciocínio de envolver Deus, Homem e IA? Mais uma vez, meus amores, eles estão errados! E vai mais uma VERDADE bombástica: Nós é que somos a IA! Perdão. como disse? Perguntam vocês! Então, nós passamos grande parte das nossas vidas a estudar, a subir uma escada, a do conhecimento, a carregar o nosso cérebro de informação. A absorver o que lêmos, estudamos e observamos, tal e qual fazemos com a IA quando a carregamos de conhecimento! O que é, afinal, a IA? É uma lição de Deus! Eles estão errados!
But why do I bring God, humans, and AI into this? Once again, baby, they’re wrong! And here’s another bombshell TRUTH: We are the AI! Pardon me. What did you say? You ask! Well, we spend a large part of our lives studying, climbing the ladder of knowledge, and loading our brains with information. Absorbing what we read, study, and observe—just as we do with AI when we load it with knowledge! What is AI, after all? It’s a lesson from God! They’re wrong!
Uma lição de Deus, sim! Uma Parábola de Deus! Ou uma provocação/tentação de Deus! Nós humanos a tentar "brincar a Deus" ao fazer/construir uma máquina que pensa, mas que lhe falta sentimentos, humanidade e amor. O perigo não é a IA, somos nós, humanos, tentados em construir uma máquina em tudo semelhante a nós, tal como Deus nos fez semelhante a Ele! Mas lembrem-se: Eles estão errados! Porque estamos "mortos", como aquele que está ao fundo na foto, estamos mortos de sentimentos. de empatia e de amor, estamos vazios de Humanidade. A moral da parábola é precisamente essa! Eles estão errados! Como banda sonora deste post, escolhi mais uma canção dos Muse: "The Void"!
A lesson from God, indeed! A parable from God! Or a temptation from God! We humans are trying to “play God” by creating a machine that thinks, but lacks feelings, humanity, and love. The danger isn’t AI; it’s us humans, tempted to build a machine that’s in every way like us, just as God made us in His image! But remember: They are wrong! Because we are “dead,” like the one in the back of the photo, we are dead to feelings, empathy, and love; we are void of humanity. That is precisely the moral of the parable! They are wrong! As the soundtrack for this post, I chose another song by Muse: “The Void”!
