Look Nº 433 - The British Accent!!

I'm at the Palácio da Bolsa (Palace) in Oporto. At the base of this Palace is a Trade Treaty - Treaty of Methuen 1703 - a highly advantageous treaty for England. Portugal provided Port Wine - much appreciated by the English - and England supplied Portugal with its textiles. So I thought the best look to come to the Palace would be with a trench coat, is there any british garment better than this? I feel myself a true Englishwoman !!

My dear fellows this Treaty highly prejudiced the Portuguese textile industry that didn't develop, many lands were stolen to agriculture to produce Port wine. England is always smart in the Trade Agreements it establishes with other countries, so it's now in a stalemate with Brexit, they want to be in and out at the same time, what happens is that at the moment they don't know what is most advantageous for them darlings!!

Yes!! O chão das várias salas, maravilhoso by the way, é feito de madeiras exóticas que vieram do Brasil num trabalho de encastramento marvelous darlings!!! Ai que eu falo tão bem inglês Oh my!!! Ahahhahah!!

So, this is where this trade was made!! And, what a wonderful place!! I'll tell you just a few curiosities. The staircase took 41 years to build!! Yes!! The floor of the various rooms, wonderful by the way, is made of exotic woods that came from Brazil in a job of embedding marvelous darlings!!! Oh I speak English so well!! Oh my!! Ahahhahah!!

In the Palace exists a court that at the time resolved the disputes between the parties. The Court is superb in the wall paintings and the ceiling as well as the furniture.

Mas the icing on the cake é o Salão Árabe, tudo o que vêm dourado é gold, gold darlings!!

But the icing on the cake is the Arabian Saloon, all that you see golden is gold, gold darlings !! In this room the Heads of State and the Members of the Royal Houses are received at banquets offered by the OPorto city, so chic !!! As soon as the door opens we hear a general exclamation: Beautiful, stunning !!! And more, this room took only 18 years to be made, Isn't it great darlings?

Darlings, to finish my visit to Oporto in this British way darlings, no, no, I did not go to the Foz - place chosen by the English to live in Oporto - I went to Bolhon - Bolhão but with Oporto accent - and as the market of the Bolhon is under construction I took the photo in Pérola do Bolhon, which is the most photographed grocery store in Oporto, carago (word used by the Oporto citizens) I already lost the british accent!!! I wanna cry!!

  29. What a beautiful place! You always show us amazing destinations. The golden room is so royal and majestic. I didn't know about this British - Portuguese treaty, interesting idea to change wine for textile. I think in the old days people used to trade like this more often. Today everyone relies on money, which can seem more convenient but as financial crisis has taught us- nothing is for certain. Maybe it was better when people exchanged goods.

Your beige styling is very stylish and elegant. Yes, you're right- a trench coat seems very British. You look great. Perfect elegant styling for this majestic location.
