Look Nº 508 - Hero!

I want you to meet the latest Portuguese hero. He is a computer genius. His name is Rui Pinto and he's under arrest, because he's a hacker! He is the Edward Snowden portuguese!

Rui Pinto - Photo by Maria Feck

Justice in Portugal only works for petty thiefs! For the powerful, bankers, businessmen and corrupt politicians, justice does not work. Because if Justice worked, Rui Pinto would not be in prison, it would not have been necessary for Rui Pinto to risk his future to discover all the corruption that grace Portuguese society. Rui Pinto entered the computers of these corrupt people and has evidences of all the corruption, the Justice instead of collaborating with him, no, arrest him, to silence him.

I heard some political commentators say that Rui Pinto knows secrets so serious that they can shake our regime, our democracy! At the same time I read some articles that say that there are hackers hired to enter computers in African countries to match-fixing the elections results, have you heard of this? This is all connected!!! I don't say in terms of match-fixing in Portugal, as Portuguese democracy is a mature democracy, but in terms of financing election campaigns and politicians I think I'm putting my finger on the problem!!

So all this because I want to show all my solidarity with Rui Pinto. And yes, I want to know the whole truth that Rui Pinto has hidden on hard drives. That's why I dressed like this, as a prisoner because that's how all the Portuguese are, trapped in a lie, who the Portuguese politicians are in fact? Especially those who in recent years have ruled the country. So I ask you, do you like my prisoner look??? Trapped in this house of... democracy? What do you think of these hackers, are they heroes or criminals?
Um beijinho para o Rui Pinto!!
Tu estás no lado certo da força!!!

A kiss to Rui Pinto !!
You are on the right side of the force !!!

Kiss

  5. Great look Marisa - you look amazing <3

I didn't know of him until I read your post. All things aside, he is a very handsome man! It is good to expose things and let the public know the corruption, even though he is breaking the law :-|

  6. Rui Pinto seems more like a hero then a criminal, but unfortunately because we have so much corruption in our governments, those who expose it end up in jail. This world is a terrible place. I feel sorry for young Rui Pinto because he only tried to expose corruptions. Such hackers shouldn't be in jail. I wouldn't know about him if you haven't published this article on your blog...I haven't read anything about him in the media. Perhaps the government has already managed to silence him and hide the truth. Very depressing idea! I hope he will be set free from jail.
Your outfit is gorgeous...and I like the symbolism behind your striped maxi dress. We are all prisoners of our corrupt governments!

  13. I hadn't heard of him before but I have seen memes pop up in Facebook (I have family who live in Portugal :op ) so now your post makes so much sense to me now! It is SUCH a shame that people like him who expose the truth get punished. And the ones who commit the real crimes get away. We have something similar here, Julian Assange did the same thing to the American government and with the help of American soldiers exposed hate crimes and the murdering of innocents in the Middle East. He's been on the "run" for years now. I think he spent 8 years in the Ecuadorian embassy seeking asylum because the English wanted to extradite him to the USA. The Australian government does nothing to help him and it's sad. People like them are heroes because without shining a light to horrendous corruption and practices, it continues and people who benefit get away with it. But it feels like more and more, those kinds of people keep getting away with crimes. The USA has a rapist in power, and he's still there so I don't even know anymore. Here's hoping Rui finds justice and freedom soon!

I have never heard about Rui Pinto - thank you for telling me more about him .
Hmmm about hackers some of them are harmful and some of them are helpful. It is difficult tu judge them from only one site I think :-)

  19. Really I think that justice doesn't work as it should do in any country, for the simple fact that very often (not to say always) are the politicians those who manage it and they're even those who do have matters to fear the jail!
I didn't heard of Rui Pinto, but really I think that all that obstinacy aginst him came from the fear of his activities and abilities. Anyway he violated law and should be punished for it in my opinion....
This apart, super chic dress, dear, it looks really great on you!

  24. That seems to be the way of injustice around the world. Whistleblowers help the people of the world immensely when they do the right thing and expose wrongdoings done under colour of authority. It is an outrage when these courageous whistleblowers are the ones who are punished while guilty and corrupt politicians get away with their crimes against humanity.
Chelsea Manning should be free and celebrated as the hero she is, and so should Edward Snowden and Rui Pinto.
I love your 'prisoner' look. You look fabulous rocking that horizontal striped Denny Rose knit dress with the Denny Rose belt and earrings from Zara. I love it.
