Look Nº 581 - Blind, Deaf and Mute!

To know where we are going, it's always good to remember a little of what was the history of Portugal and its heroes. This garden where I am located is part of the Santos Rocha Museum. It's a very beautiful museum - it also has a library where I studied in my youth - in the various exhibitions, there is one dedicated to the Logde No. 212 of Masonry. The national and local hero Manuel Fernandes Tomaz belonged to this Logde.

This Masonic hero founded a secret association with the aim of provoking a Liberal Revolution - he achieved it - and liberated the country from English rule. That is why he was called "Patriarch of Liberty". In his funeral eulogy Almeida Garrett nicknamed him "Liberator of a slave country". This hero fought for a New Portugal and fought for the defense of Citizens' Freedoms and Guarantees. At this hour he must be turn on his grave with what is being done with his inheritance, or not, who knows!! Nothing can surprise me anymore. Freedom in Portugal exists only for those who are blind, deaf and mute!!!
