 Olá! Bem-vindos a mais um fantástico post dos Looks da Semana! No último post, partilhei uma curiosidade que me vinha a intrigar: o widget dos posts populares do último mês estava a destacar posts bastante antigos do blog e verificando a quantidade de visualizações acumuladas, teriam um lugar cativo no topo. Então, comecei a desconfiar que talvez houvesse algo mais por detrás desses números. Ao olhar para esses posts em questão, todos eles incluem links directos para lojas asiáticas, é bastante provável que esses visitantes estejam a clicar regularmente nesses conteúdos, mantendo-os em destaque. Ou seja, o que era uma questão de números, pode afinal estar a ser influenciado por acessos de uma determinada área geográfica, a Ásia. Convém lembrar que Portugal nem 10% de visualizações tem neste blog.

  Hello! Welcome to another fantastic Looks of the Week post! In the last post, I shared something that had been intriguing me: the widget for last month's popular posts was highlighting some very old blog posts, and judging by the number of views they had accumulated, they would have a permanent place at the top. So, I began to suspect that there might be something else behind those numbers. Looking at these posts in question, they all include direct links to Asian stores, so it's quite likely that these visitors are regularly clicking on this content, keeping it in the spotlight. In other words, what was a question of numbers may actually be influenced by access from a specific geographical area, Asia. It's worth remembering that Portugal doesn't even account for 10% of the views on this blog.

Foi então que decidi fazer uma pequena mudança no blog: em vez de mostrar os posts mais populares do último mês, passei a destacar apenas os posts mais populares da última semana. Com isso, dou espaço para que outros posts, mais recentes ou não, possam ter a sua oportunidade de voltar a brilhar!

That's when I decided to make a small change to the blog: instead of showing the most popular posts from the last month, I started highlighting only the most popular posts from the last week. This gives other posts, whether recent or not, a chance to shine again!

10 anos de diferença, 20kg, e várias doenças! / 10 years apart, 20kg, and several illnesses!

Esta pequena alteração é uma espécie de experiência: quero ver o que acontece quando mudamos a periodicidade das visualizações e, se isso ajuda a trazer mais diversidade aos conteúdos em destaque. Afinal, um blog vive também do seu dinamismo e da possibilidade de redescobrirmos posts que, por alguma razão, podem ter passado despercebidos. Vamos ver como as estatísticas se vão comportar!

This small change is a kind of experiment: I want to see what happens when we change the frequency of views and whether this helps to bring more diversity to the featured content. After all, a blog also thrives on its dynamism and the possibility of rediscovering posts that, for some reason, may have gone unnoticed. Let's see how the statistics behave!
