Look Nº 512 - My Valentine story!

Today is Valentine's Day, so what?! - you say!! What is new is the story that fascinated the Portuguese these days. It's a love story... a tragic love. Oh, I'm going to break your hearts!

Cancer is the reason for this tragedy. He, in the terminal phase of his illness marries with his loved one and, he asks her to give him a son! He dies a few hours after the wedding. But ... he leave genetic material to carry out post-mortem insemination. The discussion that has arisen in Portugal is as follows: It's not possible to carry out insemination with material from a dead person, it's only possible from a living person. In short, this woman can have the child of any living man but she cannot have the child of her dead lover!

I already know that you will tell me that she should be able to do whatever she wanted, it was the same thing that you told me about the Dukes of Sussex, Meghan and Harry. For me she can also do whatever she wants, but ... that doesn't mean that I don't have an opinion on the subject. Do you want to know what it is?

Qual a vossa opinião?

And, my opinion is this: I think she is a selfish person if she decides to have a child of the dead loved one, she is not thinking about the child, fatherless at conception, she is not thinking about his well-being and the weight this will mean for her, not having a father. She is young and will definitely have other relationships, I think she will have many opportunities to have children of other men that she will also love. This is my opinion! But for me you can do whatever you want if it is legally possible!! What is your opinion? Tell me everything in the comments, I'm curious to know!!

About Meghan - well I don't know her so it's difficult to say something more, but I am sure that she knew what she did. She was not first naive girl but she has a knowladge how thsi world looks like...

  4. This is a lovely dress - it is pretty funky and cool I think. Something a bit different too :-D

It is a difficult one. I remember a lady did it over here in the UK in the 90s - Diane Blood - you can see her story online. It will be a shame for the child as it will never know its father. But in this modern world, there are a lot of single parent families and parents that abandon their own childern. As long as the kid is loved and cared for, that is the main thing.

  6. I am thinking the same way with you, Marisa.
Yes, she needs to think all about the child later on.

  13. Love this look Great post My opinion is that the child can be very happy with an amazing mom and the story of how important he is how much his father wanted him and I am sure he would be proud of his father It depends on her too Is that what she really wants It would work if she really wants this child and if she is ready to be a single mom It is hard work but whatever her decision I wish her good luck and happiness xoxo Cris

  14. Such a fun dress! :) I think it's interesting, there have been a few cases like this in the news here in Australia too. Not my decision to make though, something each person has to consider for their own situation!

    Hope you're having a lovely weekend :)

  15. It is quite a dilemma. I do understand her as every woman wants to have a child with the man she loves. Even if the man isn't here anymore, she still loves him and wants his child. It probably seems to her that she will never love again- and maybe she won't find that kind of love again. On the other hand, a child growing up without a father is at a great disadvantage. Children of single mothers are more likely to suffer from depression and commit suicide. So, it is true that it is selfish of her...but at the same time, I understand how she might feel.
You look fabulous in this tartan dress. Have a great weekend!

  17. I totally agree with you Marisa, she is selfish and it is not fair to the child.
