Welcome to another new post, my dear friends and readers! I went to visit the complex of one of Portugal's most prestigious national and international brands: Vista Alegre, known for producing porcelain, crystal and glass. I started my visit at the museum housed in the old factory. And I got off to a good start, because I was able to take photos inside the old wood-fired kiln used to fire the porcelain. It was like travelling back in time, to an era when craftsmanship was very demanding.
This year the Vista Alegre brand celebrates its 200th anniversary! I explored two centuries of porcelain production in the museum's various galleries, going through different aesthetic currents that reveal the evolution of design and technique. The porcelain on display is stunning and complex, magnificently presented. True works of art, it's impossible to remain indifferent to the work of the first artisans!
The visit to the Museum ends in the shop, a true paradise for porcelain lovers, but also a place where exclusivity is reflected in the prices. This is a luxury brand. Luxury comes at a price. And you know what that is! The pieces are stunning and ideal for wedding presents or diplomatic gifts.
This is the Vista Alegre complex, in front of which is the 5-star hotel, on the left is the new factory, and behind the hotel is the museum, the shop, the outlet shop, the church and a whole village with a theatre, a nursery, a drawing school and the houses that housed the first Vista Alegre workers. Today, the artists who paint the porcelain are trained in Fine Arts. I hope you enjoyed your visit with me and learnt about the greatness of a world-renowned Portuguese brand. A true icon of excellence!
Lindo vestido. Te mando un beso.

It's worth all the money you pay for a ticket, which is almost nothing for what you're going to see!

EliminarIt's wonderful to read about your visit to Vista Alegre. I think these porcelain pieces are truly art pieces. I loved the colours in these porcelain pieces. It's wonderful that there are established brands that preserve the high standards of porcelain making. Such beauty of craftsmanship should come at a high price.
ResponderEliminarI love your green maxi dress. You look like a mermaid. So beautiful! A perfect outfit for a visit to this Portuguese iconic brand complex. It's great there's also a museum and a hotel there. A big complex with shops and everything!
There you can breathe in the art and history of a country! Vista Alegre is a source of national pride. Even Cristiano Ronaldo bought 10 per cent of the company's capital!
EliminarOne job I'd like to have is as a porcelain painter in this factory - it must be a very rewarding job!
The dress fits in very well with this artistic atmosphere!
It's something I'd like to try too. Maybe they will organize workshops of ceramic painting some day.
