Look Nº 859 - Curiosity Killed... the Cat!

Bem-vindos meus caros amigos e leitores! A curiosidade!!

Welcome, my dear friends and readers! In this post, I'm going to tell you a story that happened to me, but first I have to tell you about a human characteristic, which like any characteristic, must exist within us in balance, because we run the risk of falling into impudence and inconvenience or other more serious things! And what human characteristic am I talking about? Curiosity!

How can we define curiosity? Let's just say that it is the driving force behind humanity's greatest discoveries. It sharpens critical thinking, promotes innovation and challenges us to go beyond the obvious. A curious person is more likely to find creative solutions to problems! On the other hand, when exaggerated, it can become inconvenient and lead the curious person into uncomfortable and even disrespectful situations!

Now I'll tell you what happened to me. One day, after buying the car I now have, I went out and left the garage door open. When I got back, I was confronted with a scene that was unusual to say the least: someone came into my garage, must have done a full inspection and, to my surprise, to tell me he'd been there, left my umbrella open in the middle of the garage, even telling me ‘I've been here’

I was appalled by the audacity. This is private property, a space that must be respected. This person, driven by curiosity, not only entered without permission, but also left a sign of his boldness. How petulant, don't you think? This is a clear example of how uncontrolled curiosity can go beyond what is acceptable.

So, let the lesson be learnt: curiosity can take us a long way, but if we don't know how to dose it, we can get into trouble. After all, it's not for nothing that they say that curiosity killed... the cat!

  1. WOW! I really love the yarn-bombed trees! How pretty!
It’s crazy how unchecked curiosity can lead people to do such bold (and sometimes disrespectful) things. The fact that someone went into your garage and left your umbrella open as a sign they’d been there is unbelievable!

  3. Oh, what a fright to find! I hope all is OK. That is scary. I did have a strange situation with a patron yesterday complaing about someone recording him at the library. However, he was the one who started the strange moment with the woman who was minding her own business. The more he talked about her at the counter, the more threatening he became. But we also have video of his interaction with her. Thankfully, he left and did not come back.

So love seeing the crochet on the trees. I haven't seen that in a while. I had a friend who loved doing this art. I even did a little on a tree in our back yard since my crochet is very free style. Lovely in pink. Thanks for the post. Oh, the holidays do bring out peculiar things in people. Stay safe. You and the car! Thanks so much for your comments. Heres to lots of smiles coming your way💕❤️♥️😊

Lol.
    .
    Abraça se fores capaz...
    Beijos e uma excelente semana.

  12. How very strange about the car! I find the fact the person had left your umbrella open rather menacing. It's one thing sneaking in and looking at your property, it's another to leave you a message to say that they've done it.
I often see people sneaking through our gates early in the morning and taking photos of our house, I suppose I should be flattered but it would be more polite if they knocked the door and asked first!
I absolutely love your curly lamb coat, I might have to wear mine today (it was my Mum's in the 1970s!) and the yarn bombing is so pretty! xxx
