Look Nº 794 - Halloween Mood!

 Em Portugal, o Halloween não é tradicionalmente celebrado como em outros lugares do mundo. A cultura portuguesa tem as suas próprias festividades, como o Carnaval e o Dia de Todos os Santos, que muitas vezes têm um papel mais importante no calendário festivo. No entanto, ao longo dos anos, por influências culturais e comerciais, o Halloween tem vindo a ganhar adeptos, mais nas zonas urbanas e entre as camadas mais jovens! Como este blog é mais internacional que nacional - dizem as estatísticas - eu decidi celebrar o Halloween com uma história de terror e horror!!!

In Portugal, Halloween is not traditionally celebrated in the same way as in other parts of the world. Portuguese culture has its own festivities, such as Carnival and All Saints' Day, which often play a more important role in the festive calendar. However, over the years, due to cultural and commercial influences, Halloween has been gaining followers, more so in urban areas and among the younger generation! As this blog is more international than national - statistics say - I decided to celebrate Halloween with a horror story!!!

No meu quarto transformado num sombrio cenário de Halloween, a mulher aranha, eu, encarava a abóbora iluminada com curiosidade. As teias voavam e a abóbora sorria misteriosamente!

- Quem és tu, abóbora iluminada? Porque invades o meu reino de sombras esta noite?

- Ah, mulher aranha, sou a faísca na escuridão, a luz na dança das trevas. Vim para desafiar a tua teia com o meu brilho hahahaha!!!

In my room transformed into a gloomy Halloween scene, the spider woman, me, stared at the illuminated pumpkin with curiosity. The cobwebs were flying and the pumpkin was smiling mysteriously!
- Who are you, illuminated pumpkin? Why are you invading my realm of shadows tonight?
- Ah, spider woman, I am the spark in the darkness, the light in the dance of darkness. I've come to challenge your web with my brilliance hahahaha!!!

- Cuidado! As minhas teias são mais fortes do que parecem! A escuridão é minha aliada!

- Mas, mulher Aranha, a escuridão não conhece o riso. Deixa-me iluminar teu mundo sombrio!

 A mulher Aranha soltou uma gargalhada estridente e inesperada com o atrevimento desafiador da abóbora.

- Watch out! My webs are stronger than they look! Darkness is my ally!
- But, Spider woman, darkness knows no laughter. Let me light up your dark world!
Spiderwoman let out a loud and unexpected laugh at the pumpkin's defiance.

- Chegou a hora de encerrar o nosso confronto, abóbora, O que propões agora? - pergunta a mulher aranha.

- Doçura ou Travessura? - perguntou a abóbora com um sorriso travesso.

- It's time to end our confrontation, pumpkin. What do you propose now? - asks the spider woman.
- Trick or treat? - asked the pumpkin with a mischievous smile.

A noite terminou com risos e estas criaturas improváveis aprenderam que, por vezes, a melhor travessura é criar momentos de doçura em vez de terror, para isso já temos as notícias do mundo!

The evening ended with laughter and these unlikely creatures learnt that sometimes the best treat is to create moments of sweetness instead of terror, for which we already have the news of the world!
