Numa "noite" enigmática, o Convento de Cristo em Tomar transformou-se no cenário de um sonho, onde eu, uma donzela envergando um longo vestido, fez uma viagem que transcendeu as fronteiras do espaço e do tempo...

 One enigmatic "night", the Convent of Christ in Tomar became the setting for a dream, where I, a maiden wearing a long dress, made a journey that transcended the boundaries of space and time...
 

Nesse sonho, encontrei-me com um Cavaleiro Templário na majestosa Janela Manuelina (a cabeça do cavaleiro está esculpida ne pedra se olharem com atenção). O seu olhar, carregado de séculos de história, convidou-me a uma jornada única: "Vem comigo, pelas veias da história"

In that dream, I met a Knight Templar in the majestic Manueline window (the knight's head is carved in stone if you look closely). His gaze, steeped in centuries of history, invited me on a unique journey: "Come with me, through the veins of history"

 

 

A Janela Manuelina é um tesouro arquitectónico, é uma obra-prima que transporta quem a contempla para o esplendor da época. O seu nome deriva do Rei D. Manuel I de portugal, que reinou durante a sua construção no séc. XVI. a Janela é a expressão sublime do estilo gótico tardio e renascentista. Os elementos esculpidos refletem a rica herança portuguesa ligada às descobertas marítimas da época.

The Manueline Window is an architectural treasure, a masterpiece that transports the beholder to the splendour of the period. Named after King Manuel I of Portugal, who reigned during its construction in the 16th century, the window is a sublime expression of the late Gothic and Renaissance styles. The sculpted elements reflect the rich Portuguese heritage linked to the maritime discoveries of the time.

E, assim, como uma dama ansiosa por aventura, aceitei o seu convite. Percorremos os corredores do Convento, cada pedra antiga sussurrava segredos de eras passadas. O claustro de D. João III tornou-se o cenário onde a nossa história se desdobrou, a banda sonora dos Muse, Knights of Cydonia (os cavaleiros de Cydonia), amplificou a intensidade desta jornada!

And so, like a lady eager for adventure, I accepted his invitation. We wandered through the halls of the convent, each ancient stone whispering secrets of ages past. The cloister of D. João III became the setting where our story unfolded, the soundtrack by Muse, Knights of Cydonia, amplified the intensity of this journey!

O Claustro de D. João III é uma maravilha do Renascimento. Construído no reinado deste Rei de Portugal, exibe uma mistura de estilos arquictetónicos, incluindo o gótico e o manuelino, passear neste claustro é mergulhar na arte e história renascentista.

The Cloister of King João III is a marvel of the Renaissance. Built during the reign of this King of Portugal, it displays a mixture of architectural styles, including Gothic and Manueline. To walk around this cloister is to immerse yourself in Renaissance art and history.

Quanto ao meu look, um longo vestido, em que cada dobra do tecido parece uma extensão das antigas pedras, como se a história do lugar se manifestasse nele, uma fusão simbólica com a arquitectura ancestral que me rodeava. A textura do tecido evocava a frieza das pedras antigas, mas, ao mesmo tempo, carregava a suavidade de uma história que se desdobrava. O padrão, como se esculpido em seda, contava contos silenciosos que se entrelaçavam com a história deste lugar que transcende o tempo.

As for my look, it was a long dress in which every fold of the fabric seemed to be an extension of the ancient stones, as if the history of the place was manifesting itself in it, a symbolic fusion with the ancient architecture that surrounded me. The texture of the fabric evoked the coldness of the ancient stones, but at the same time it carried the softness of an unfolding story. The pattern, as if carved in silk, told silent tales that intertwined with the history of this place that transcends time.

 A música ecoava: "Tu e eu temos de lutar pelos nossos direitos, tu e eu temos de lutar para sobreviver", enquanto a narrativa entrelaçava o nosso presente com os feitos dos Cavaleiros Templários na Terra Santa. Sob a luz dourada da Charola (Igreja redonda), a verdadeira essência do sonho se revelava, uma dança entre o passado e o agora.

The music echoed: "You and I must fight for our rights, you and I must fight to survive," while the narrative intertwined our present with the deeds of the Knights Templar in the Holy Land. Under the golden light of the Charola (Round Church), the true essence of the dream was revealed, a dance between the past and the now.

A Charola (séc. XII) é uma jóia arquitectónica. Era o oratório privado dos Cavaleiros Templários, uma ordem religiosa e militar medieval fascinante que tinha as suas raízes na protecção dos peregrinos à Terra Santa, mas também envolvia mistérios e lendas. Foi extinta dando origem à Ordem de Cristo!

The Charola (12th century) is an architectural gem. It was the private oratory of the Knights Templar, a fascinating religious and military medieval order that had its roots in the protection of pilgrims to Holy Land, but also involved mysteries and legends. It was abolished, giving rise to the Order of Christ!

Veio-me à memória o que se está a passar, actualmente, na Terra Santa, no ápice da trama, as portas do convento fecharam-se lentamente. Era como se o destino decidisse congelar aquele momento, provocando uma pausa reflexiva. Como donzela, senti a magnitude do simbolismo; um chamado a fechar as portas à repetição das tragédias históricas, abrindo espaço para um futuro moldado pela compreensão e pela PAZ!🕊

I was reminded of what is currently happening in the Holy Land. At the climax of the plot, the convent doors slowly closed. It was as if fate had decided to freeze that moment, causing a reflective pause. As a maiden, I felt the magnitude of the symbolism; a call to close the doors to the repetition of historical tragedies, making way for a future molded by understanding and PEACE!🕊

Cydonia é uma região do planeta Marte, Knights of Cydonia dos Muse, não estando directamente relacionada com os Cavaleiros Templários, pode evocar imagens de luta contra a opressão, semelhante à história dos Cavaleiros Templários. Ambos partilham temas de heroísmo e resistência, permitindo uma conexão simbólica entre a rica história medieval e a expressão artística contemporânea da música na sua vertente rock futurista.

Cydonia is a region on the planet Mars, Muse's Knights of Cydonia, while not directly related to the Knights Templar, can evoke images of struggle against oppression, similar to the story of the Knights Templar. Both share themes of heroism and resistance, allowing for a symbolic connection between the rich medieval history and the contemporary artistic expression of music, in its futuristic rock style.
