Vocês vêm muita televisão? Para mim, a TV é o ópio das massas, programas pouco apelativos e pouco desafiadores do pensamento. Os programas classificados como reality shows - Big Brother e Secret Story - são programas que promovem o ócio e o dinheiro ganho de uma forma fácil, sem qualquer tipo de esforço físico ou intelectual! Ver a televisão nos dias de hoje é embrutecer em pouco tempo. Se a televisão promove estes valores, as redes sociais são ainda piores e mais perigosas!

Do you watch a lot of TV? To me, TV is the opium of the masses—programs that are unappealing and offer little intellectual stimulation. Shows classified as reality TV—Big Brother and Secret Story—are programs that promote idleness and easy money, without any kind of physical or intellectual effort! Watching TV these days is a surefire way to become dull-witted in no time. If television promotes these values, social media is even worse and more dangerous!
As redes sociais - Facebook, Instagram, X - são empresas gigantes que atravessam as fronteiras dos países e cujos malefícios estão já identificados: adição, doenças mentais, solidão! Estas redes sugerem-nos de uma forma súbtil o que devemos sentir e aquilo que devemos querer de uma forma repetitiva. Isto além de normalizarem um discurso de ódio contra as mulheres, imigrantes e outras minorias. É a nova ditadura das sociedades modernas. Reparem que estas organizações são maiores que os próprios estados!
Social media platforms—Facebook, Instagram, X—are giant corporations that transcend national borders, and their harmful effects have already been identified: addiction, mental illness, loneliness! These platforms subtly and repeatedly suggest to us what we should feel and what we should want. On top of that, they normalize hate speech against women, immigrants, and other minorities. It is the new dictatorship of modern societies. Note that these organizations are larger than the states themselves!
Pessoas, jovens e menos jovens, ficam alienados das suas vidas e da realidade, presas a um ecrã, que sabe através do uso da IA, todos os seus gostos e preferências, exacerbando-os até uma forma doentia. Como se fizesse micro cortes no cérebro, entrando num vazio de alucinações permanente. Onde a solidão se acerca não permintindo o estabelecimento de relações e a interconectividade com outros indíviduos, porque essa conectividade já não satisfaz os desejos desse indíviduo e a sua personalidade enviesada pela adição às redes sociais!
People, young and old alike, become alienated from their lives and reality, glued to a screen that, through the use of AI, knows all their tastes and preferences, exacerbating them to an unhealthy degree. It’s as if it were making micro-cuts in the brain, plunging one into a void of permanent hallucinations. Where loneliness creeps in, preventing the formation of relationships and inter connectivity with others, because that connectivity no longer satisfies the desires of that individual and their personality, warped by addiction to social media!
Assim, tornamo-nos indíviduos apáticos, deixando de sentir compaixão, amor, preocupação, desenvolvemos uma apatia em relação ao próximo, porque já estamos mortos por dentro.
Thus, we become apathetic individuals, losing our capacity for compassion, love, and concern; we grow indifferent toward others because we are already dead inside.

Em vez de um canto litúrgico, temos um canto que representa o sofrimento das sociedades modernas. Esta perfomance de Matt Bellamy faz-me lembrar alguém, isto porque ninguém se compara à maneira como Matt agarra as letras das canções, cantando-as magistralmente, tornando-as verdadeiros hinos!
Instead of a liturgical hymn, we have a song that captures the suffering of modern societies. This performance by Matt Bellamy reminds me of someone, because no one else can compare to the way Matt takes hold of the lyrics, singing them masterfully and turning them into true anthems!
É por tudo isto que acabei de escrever que resolvi tirar estas fotos a sentir a brisa do mar, esta é uma das melhores terapias para "limpar" o lixo com que somos invadidos na nossa vida quotidiana nas redes sociais. Lembrem-se, que o mais importante são vocês. Não se deixem arrastar por pressões maquiavélicas que não merecem que lhes seja dada a mínima importância!

It’s because of everything I’ve just written that I decided to take these photos while feeling the sea breeze—this is one of the best ways to “clear out” the clutter that floods our daily lives on social media. Remember, you are what matters most. Don’t let yourselves be dragged down by Machiavellian pressures that don’t deserve the slightest bit of your attention!
