Disclaimer:
Because on Friday and Saturday the blog has fewer views, it's
weekend, people go out at night and go to the beach and, don't spend so
much time reading blogs, I chose this issue for this day, because I don't
want that many views of it because it has a certain audience target. As I also read many movie blogs. Let's talk about movies today. In the movies of my life.
Remember in
the last posts I said that at some point in my life, I ended up with
the readings, the internet, the television and, I dedicated myself to
cross stitch and, if you remember I showed one of these works here in
the blog, it was a bath towel with a cross-stitched bar (Here). The
drawing of this bar was taken from a magazine (eggs and
chickens, remember?), But at a certain point it no longer made sense for
me to be embroidering copying magazine designs, so I started drawing
myself what I wanted to embroider.
Querem?
I want to
show you this sheet that has a cross-stitched bar, and the pillows also
have one, whose issue is the movie of my life. If you see in the photos the embroidery has the filmstrip and each frame tells a story of my life. But that only I know the meaning, its only intelligible by me. As
you can see the whole bar is completely embroidered, there is not a
single space, nothing is left to embroider, I bet you can not imagine
the hours and hours that are involved in this work, made and imagined by
a head in great suffering. And I assure you that I still have bigger works than this one. If in another story that I have to tell you if I connect the story with the emboidery, I promise I'll show you. Do you Want to?
Now I want to talk about movie characters. Imagining
that life is a movie, there are people who go through life only as
extras from another greatest story, such as the history of one country,
others have secondary roles, and still others are heroes or villains of
that same story.Others characters that we
simply love, because of their human or professional qualities, others
because they emanate good energies in which only their simple presence
makes us feel good and, others we love .And, these become the main characters of our film., that is our life.
There are
also many anonymous characters who walks between the raindrops but carry stories
worthy of true Hollywood movies, but of those older ones, because the ones from now on, have too much technology involved, but that they remain
or prefer to remain unknown or consigned to oblivion ,
or whose value is not even known or recognized, because recognizing
this, meant raising a major problem of collective consciousness and no
one is interested in having conscience problems, problems that doesn't even exist
in the present time, in the society we build. Or because these anonymous characters prefer it. Characters
whose dimension of their existence is sufficient for themselves, whose
meaning of their life or existence is only understood by them and, end of story.
Regarding
the current film of my life, I still can not verbalize anything about
it, I can only say that it is something that goes through these trailers
(they are very short, just over 1 minute) from Roberto Begnini's film
"Life is Beautiful".
Last week I
had an Anonymous who in a comment suggested a theme for a post, a theme
in the form of a figure, which I will introduce you.
Hein?
Assuming
the hypothesis that this Anonymous knows me and knows what my life has
been in the last year and a half, I make the following reading of the
figure: I am the person who is not perfect and has problems, so many pieces of me went to the laboratory that I'm all nibblet at, I'm the person on the right side. The person on the left side can be one person, or several, it can be a family, or in a broader sense, Humanity. And
this person on the right side, who is me, was called by life,
that volunteering her so that in a selfless or altruistic way, as the Anonymous
prefers, offer the other person or persons the missing piece, and
the piece can signify Knowledge.Anonimous, what a great movie, isn't it!! Huh?
👤👤👤👤👤
Dear
Anonymous, this is a very personal view, and this entire post is written
in an encrypted form intelligible to very few people. But next Wednesday, if I take the photos on the weekend, I have another post for this issue. Putting the hypothesis that Anonymous is just a blog reader. Two posts for a single topic!!! Don't that beat all!!
Vestido/Dress: Lanidor Pulseiras/Bracelets: To Steel and Swarovski Colares/Necklaces: Joalharia Portuguesa/Portuguese Jewellry
Just one question: Can you figured out the work that is involved in this post?
Wow you are certainly one of the most creative people I have come across. You must have put so much hard work into that strip and all the amazing embroidery. Truly impressive and what a great memory!
I have a couple of hand stitched paintings in the house and those took ages to get it finalized. Goes without saying that you look sassy girl!! fabulous dress xx
Much Love, Elegant Duchess xx https://www.elegantduchess.com/
I think it is understandable that you choose to do embroidery to separate yourself from the news, reading, media and TV and all those other things you felt were becoming overwhelming. When we have health problems, we need to find what works best for us. Sometimes it is doing something creative, sometimes it is resting. Sometimes it takes time to figure out what is wrong and how to cure it.
I do some embroidery myself so I can understand it takes a lot of work...and even more work to design and make those images yourself, images you chose to embroider to represent movies, characters and scenes from your life, those whose meaning is known only to yourself. I don't know exactly how much hours and work went into it, but I'm sure it is a lot.
As for the image/message of the anonymous, I think it can happen. We want to make others happy and hence we forget to take care of ourselves. It happens. We need to take care of ourselves as well. Take care!
You are so so creative making story of your life- Life is a kind of the movie- mix of different types of movies and we are playing the mail role in the. We have to live the best that we can. Nobody is perfect my dear Marisa- we all are human beings but it's good to respect each other in this world.
I love your pictures here- you are so amazing human being outside and inside :-) Have a lovely weekend dear
That's a whole lot for one post, I read it carefully and I went through an emotional rollercoaster, You have a lot of interesting things to say and a lot of xperience to share, that's why I read your post greedily. Let me now pay you a compliment, this particular embroidery artwork is a sort of masterpiece in my modest opinion! Don't Call Me Fashion Blogger Facebook Bloglovin'
And I have more, bigger and with a lot of meanings. And at this moment I am going through a serious health problem, I already have the diagnosis made by the doctors. thank you Francesca for your love<3333
Beijos. ♥ Diário da Lady
What a wonderful post, Marisa! I craft a lot, but have not done cross-stitch, and your work is just so impressive and inspiring, even more so because each of the film strip means something special to you. And you know, I've never seen Life Is Beautiful just because I've heard it's amazing but also heart-breaking. PS You look so lovely in that dress. I hope you're having an awesome weekend.
It's pretty cool that each strip on the quilt tells a story. One picture can tell a lot of stories - and it's something to keep guests busy for quite a long time XD. I mean no one is perfect but we all have to try out best. It's okay!
Since you said the post is encrypted, I assume I didn't understand much of it. From what I read though, I wanted to say that the image and quote about altruism are beautiful and very true. Your embroidery project is lovely and it does look like it took an enormous amount of time. Having it be a movie of your life is a beautiful concept.
I am amazed by your tenacity and the embroidered pillow trims took my breath away as I can see that every bit of it you have filled up! I admire you and I hope to see more of your embroidered pieces as I'm sure they will be as expressive as you :)
Dear Marisa, I keep thinking about the comment you've left on one of my blog posts and I feel closer to you in this moment than I ever felt to any other blogger. I appreciate very much the fact that you shared yourself this much in this post and I understand everything you say, more, I agree with what you've said. Life is like this sometimes and often we need someone to complete us and help us open our eyes. Staying anonymous isn't always bad, many times it helps us to avoid getting hurt or become vulnerable. Thank you for sharing yourself like that with us. P.S: You look amazing in that dress and I really love your embroidery, great work ;) Regards, Flo
Wow! You've made that? Must be therapeutic to do something like that and very personal too... You've also got skills and patience to finish something like that. Have a great weekend Marisa.

You are so talented at your embroidery, these is beautiful! it must have taken a very long time, but it is great that it is so special to you! :)
I'm sorry you thought I was cold towards you! Sometimes I don't get much time on the computer to read other blogs, my boys have been very unwell (the little one was taken to hospital last week) so my scheduled blog posts have been going out but I haven't visited blogs as much as I'd like.
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend :) We are getting some much-needed rain here which is fantastic. Does mean we aren't doing what we had planned though, haha!
Hi Marisa! I love that embroidery and the meaning, you have a great talent with cross stitching, got the creativity and the patience enough to create that beauty! About the anonymous suggestion, I agree with the image and your words, we sometimes give every piece of us to someone but we forget to take care of us. And I've seen the movie just once but can't watch it again because even though it's beautiful, it's so sad that I wouldn't stop crying, I remember that when I watched it my eyes were full of tears. Anyway it's a very good movie, really touching! xx
Dear Marisa, it is really unbelievable what you stiched and I'm impressed that this is even the story of your life! Although I don't watch TV I never gave up Internet - maybe this is the reason why don't stitching? And yes, for sure I will see the complete work you did! Amazing pictures my dear, but so sorry I don't know the movies (you know and I visit the cinema very very seldom). xx Rena www.dressedwithsoul.com
