Look Nº 464 - City of Love!

It was precisely here that the most beautiful - and tragic - love story in the history of Portugal took place. Imagine I am Dona Inès de Castro who was crowned queen after her death and the subjects had to kiss her dead hand, really !!  That's why I have this tiara on my head, that's her crown!!

Dona Ines was a Spanish maid of the Portuguese king Don Pedro. Fate wanted them to fall madly in love here where I am, on the banks of the Mondego River. Together they had 4 children. But this extramarital relationship was not welcomed by Don Pedro's father or by the court. After many separations and hidden meetings Don Pedro's father had Dona Inês killed. Angrily Don Pedro chased after his beloved executioners and ordered them to be killed, one ripped his heart out, the other ripped his heart behind his back.
Gostaram do meu canal História? Ahahahah!!!

But it was here that they were happy, the bridge you see in the distance in the photos is the Pedro & Inês Bridge, symbol of union and love, the bridge has this symbolic meaning by joining the two river banks.
This is a short story of this love and so it's said that Coimbra is the city of love!!
Did you like my History channel? Ahahahah !!!
BTW I'm thinking of taking this dress to my cousin's wedding, like? It would be a modern Dona Inês!! Tell me everything in the comments, I will love to read !!!
