Look Nº 739 - Viva La Vida!

I swear when I saw this photo I thought it was fake! Me and a million other Portuguese! I will explain my admiration and amazement with this photo! Do my dear readers know who is this gentleman who is kissing this pregnant woman's belly?? Well, be amazed, he is our President of the Republic !! Hard to believe, doesn't it?? You can't imagine the size of my outrage at the hypocrisy of this photo! I had already touched on the subject in this post, how pregnant women, future mothers, are so badly treated in Portugal! They were left unattended like this house!

As maternidades fecharam!!! O que se passa é uma VERGONHA!!

But, you must be wondering why this gesture by our President, I will explain: Because in Portugal we have witnessed a dismantling of the National Health Service. For reasons of political ideology there is no closer collaboration between the private health sector and the public sector. Also due to cuts in the health budget, in addition to all this, also policies that make medical careers unattractive in the public sector, in short, health in Portugal is abandoned, like this house that you see behind me, imagine it as the Portuguese National Health Service, there is no investment in infrastructure, in people, in short, there is a lack of money and political will to change strategy, because this one is seen to be not working!! What is happening, all over the country, is that the services and emergencies of Gynecology and Obstetrics are being closed due to lack of doctors!! Literally, babies have nowhere to be born!!! The Maternity hospitals closed!!! What is happening is a SHAME!!

Portugal has one of the lowest birth rates in Europe, for the brave few who still want to be mothers in this country, my solidarity remains, but kisses on the belly do not solve problems, I only have one word: pathetic! !

But, as in Portugal we have an absolute prime minister - he won with an absolute majority - I am sure that when the doctors' vacation period passes, the reason that has caused these constraints in the services, everything will remain the same as the snail, because that is how we have been governed, we are used to it, where is the people's indignation? But nobody gets angry in this country with anything?? And this pregnant woman still runs her hand over his head!! Oh Goddess!!

This is a fashion blog, but at the same time it is a space where I express my thoughts in a light way about subjects that I consider important about my country. This one, I think, is of the utmost importance, because a baby has already died for lack of human resources. These politicians who have no respect for those who put children in this country, just show that they have no idea what the future they want for our country, what is happening is REVOLTANT!! I can only dedicate one song to our Absolute Prime Minister, which, in addition to Biblical references, alludes to the French Revolution and the end of Absolutism!

  1. Such an incredible post! Thanks for the great backdrop for this impressive outfit! Yes, in our country we are in a sad state of things too when it comes to babies. We can't seem to have formula on the shelf these days. And so much tension from the political parties. There are so many uncertainties. Thanks for your thoughts too ❤️

  3. Sempre deslumbrante

it's a shame that the health service is not there to support pregnancies in your country though :(
