Look nº 372 - Seven years pregnant!

Let's say that the issue of this post is not easy to speak about and I thought a lot if I should talk about it or not, I had many doubts, by the exposure of something so personal. But determined to speak of it, I wondered what the best and most dignified way of doing it. Great suspense around this story that I will tell you. But first let's go to an art history class !!! I assure you that in the end you will understand everything !!! I'm at the Machado de Castro Museum in Coimbra contemplating a painting by Josefa De Óbidos (1630-1684) called the Lactation of St. Bernard.

Segurem o queixo!!!

Who was this saint? Let's say he was the most influential figure of the Cistercian Order. He has inspired important painters all over Europe, such as Giotto, Goya among many others. The subject most portrayed is Lactation, for those who are not familiar with religious symbolism, let's say it's a scene that today seems incredible, like what happened to me, in the end you will say, incredible how this was possible!!! Hold your chin up!!!

Lactation means initiation to wisdom to the supreme power it confers, to the power of a divinity. This saint was considered an out-of-ordinary person, a supernatural being, a personality completely out of the ordinary. He was the first to call the Mother of God for Our Lady, and the expression "O clement, pious, or sweet Virgin Mary" is also his own. Describing the picture, the saint appears kneeling at the feet of the Virgin Mary, who in a pause of breastfeeding baby Jesus squeezes his breast towards the saint and he is struck by a shot of milk, divine science, granting him the gift of sacred oratory. And, this is shown clearly on the paint, and depicts a vision the saint had with the Virgin Mary. Let us say that it was a great privilege granted by the Mother of God to the saint for his great devotion. Let us say that S. Bernardo dominates symbolic thinking.

And that is the point: the symbolism of this painting to tell you, and I said that I was going to talk about it in the post The Stepping Stones (thanks to all, in a very short time it's already one of the publications with more views ) about the side effects of my psychiatric medication and this is perhaps the most incredible.

In medical terms the medication I took made me have Prolactin levels quite high. And what is Prolactin? It's known for the milk hormone, it acts on the development of the breasts, in the increase of its volume and in the production of milk and linked to other hormones regulate menstruation and ovulation. It means that during the seven years that I took this medication I was a "pregnant woman", had a huge breast and a very pronounced belly, just like a pregnant woman, and as you know I have no children and I swear to you that I was never pregnant in my life!!!

And, I've often heard comments like, "You're so fat, that's why no one gives you a job!" To these people I send them today the answer, in the form of a shot of milk, the divine science, the wisdom and the supreme power that it confers !!! Few are those who have this privilege !!! And it was the science that allowed me to be today the person that I am and that I have always been !! Never judge a person by his figure !! Awesome, isn't it ??? Tell me everything in the comments, I'll love to read !!!

Here I show how I was and how I am now to make a comparison !!!

  7. First of all let me tell you that I love this paintsuit, you are so very classy in it.
Then I'd love to have a few words with those ignorant people who told you something that ugly. I am really ashamed to be human at this point.
Third, I didn't know the story of this painting but I found it very moving and enchanting.

  11. I'm glad you're feeling better. It's terrible that some people judge others based on their appearance, race, gender or anything else. Your journey is amazing and it's great that you came out stronger on the other side.

I love the look too. It's so bright and elegant.

  20. Hi Marisa! Wow, the painting is amazing, also the outfit looks so elegant and beautiful.. But I'm impressed about the collateral effect of that medication, I didn't know about it. And people that comments horrible things like "being fat is why no one gives you a job" must be a really bad person, that's so cruel! I wish they'd learn a bit about empathy and not judging others. Anyway, you look great before and after!
