Hello and welcome to this blog, my dear friends and readers! I apologize for not presenting the Looks of the Week post yet, but time didn't allow it... I promise that next week you'll have back this feature that you like so much and which has already become a tradition around here!
Today, however, is a day that deserves all our attention: it's April 25, Freedom Day. 51 years ago, Portugal freed itself from dictatorship and began the road to democracy. This is undoubtedly the most important day in our country's recent history. A day of conquest, courage and hope!
A lot has changed since then. We have a consolidated democracy, guaranteed fundamental rights, freedom of expression and a more open and plural society. But, in my opinion, not enough has changed. We still have a long way to go. Portugal is a postponed country! Structural reforms are constantly being postponed, there is little ambition and where government is just about raising taxes - enough of this! We've had enough of being robbed! We need to increase salaries - the bosses still live very well, but with one less Maserati - without wasting time on wars that only slow Portugal down even more, irresponsible politicians who make decisions by whats-app no thanks!
We urgently need to change this reality, we need reforms, we need to act with courage, vision and energy. We can't live on comparisons with the past and with Eastern European countries that have already overtaken us. We have to look forward! In May we have parliamentary elections. May the next government have the capacity and determination to impose itself, to lead with purpose and to put Portugal in a stronger position within the European Union. Because this country has potential. All that's missing is the will! Even though the international situation is very complicated and we are living on a knife edge every day, let's hope!
LONG LIVE APRIL 25!
LONG LIVE FREEDOM!
You look stunning. Love the bag.

Congratulations on this special day to Portugal.
ResponderEliminarGovernments have become a problem in many countries. We in Austria, too, are struggling with inflation that the pay for honest work can't keep up with.
Your outfit is once again sensationally pretty; it suits you fantastically.
Happy Weekend, Hugs
Você é linda! Arrasa nas fotos e nos looks!

Your words are as stunning as your outfit. Oh, so much potential we squander. Yes, tough times ahead. Or so it haunts me. Thanks for being here with your courage. Thanks for your comments too!
ResponderEliminarHappy Freedom Day, Marisa! I hope the Portuguese people see sense and vote with courage and Portugal reaches its full potential.
ResponderEliminarYou look fabulous in your dress and jacket and the cap really suits you.

A Liberdade é inegociável. Encontramos artistas maravilhosos, onde menos esperamos.
ResponderEliminarHappy Freedom day! Happy 25th of April. I wish all the best to you and to your beautiful country. Portugal is a beautiful country with a rich history. There are problems in all countries, but I agree with you that we must keep hope. If we don't look forward to the future with hope, what can be hope for?
ResponderEliminarI really like your dress. Beautiful styling. Good night dear!
