Este caso é um alerta para os perigos associados ao jogo online, que apesar de serem cada vez mais populares, continua envolto numa sombra de suspeição relativamente à protecção de quem joga! Não sei se já repararam, mas a partir das 22 horas na televisão nacional, os anúncios a casinos online dominam, com mensagens apelativas e com promessas de prémios fáceis. Eu acho que se está a tornar um problema ético, porque a população mais jovem está mais exposta e vulnerável a estas campanhas de marketing agressivo! 

 

This case is a warning about the dangers associated with online gambling, which, despite becoming increasingly popular, continues to be shrouded in suspicion regarding the protection of those who gamble! I don't know if you've noticed, but after 10 p.m. on national television, advertisements for online casinos dominate, with appealing messages and promises of easy prizes. I think it's becoming an ethical problem, because younger people are more exposed and vulnerable to these aggressive marketing campaigns!

Além disso, nas redes sociais os aliciamentos directos através de mensagens, oferecendo as primeiras jogadas e experimentar a sorte, é uma estratégia para viciar os jovens e mantê-los presos! O vício do jogo é uma dependência real com consequências devastadoras que começa com um bónus aparentemente inofensivo. Muitos jovens, sem a noção dos riscos, acabam presos a estas plataformas.

 

 Furthermore, on social media, direct enticements through messages offering free spins and the chance to try their luck are a strategy to get young people hooked and keep them hooked! Gambling addiction is a real dependency with devastating consequences that starts with a seemingly harmless bonus. Many young people, unaware of the risks, end up trapped on these platforms.

Eu acho que não basta avisar para o jogo com responsabilidade. É necessário regulação eficaz e educação para a literacia digital. É urgente repensar a forma como o jogo online está a ser promovido! A história desta mulher é um exemplo que esta indústria não é transparente. Um simples passatempo não pode lucrar com a vulnerabilidade alheia. E vocês são jogadores?

I think it's not enough to just warn people to gamble responsibly. Effective regulation and digital literacy education are needed. We urgently need to rethink how online gambling is being promoted! This woman's story is an example of how this industry is not transparent. A simple pastime cannot profit from the vulnerability of others. Are you guys gamers?
