O título da música foi escolhido da seguinte forma: no dicionário, a palavra "Muscle" vem imediatamente antes da palavra "Muse", à qual se segue a palavra "Museum". Apesar do título ter sido escolhido desta forma, eu atrevo-me a relacionar título com a letra da música.

“Muscle Museum” is a song by Muse, which once again serves as inspiration for a post on my blog! The song’s title was chosen as follows: in the dictionary, the word ‘Muscle’ comes immediately before the word “Muse,” which is followed by the word “Museum.” Although the title was chosen this way, I’ll take the liberty of connecting the title to the song’s lyrics.

Então de que fala a letra da canção? A letra fala de uma rejeição. De uma luta interna para fazer uma escolha. Ou a luta entre escolher um de dois mundos, um mais espiritual outro mais mundano. Quando alguém é forçado a fazer uma escolha é necessário ter músculo, emocional e psicológico, para aguentar a pressão que lhe é feita, o que conduz a uma grande luta interna para não sucumbir e manter-se fiel aos seus princípios e ideais!

So what are the lyrics about? The lyrics are about rejection. An internal struggle to make a choice. Or the struggle between choosing one of two worlds, one more spiritual and the other more worldly. When someone is forced to make a choice, they need emotional and psychological muscle to withstand the pressure placed on them, which leads to a great internal struggle not to succumb and to remain true to their principles and ideals!

E, para se ter este músculo emocional e psicológico só mesmo uma peça de museu! Que obras de arte vão parar aos museus? As únicas, as raras, as que rompem convenções, as que quebram a barreira do tempo, as obras impossíveis de serem realizadas no contexto espacial e temporal em que se inserem, resumindo as que estão à frente do seu tempo! Por isto estou aqui neste Museu, para me contextualizar o mais possível com este texto!

Por isso escolhi duas obras de arte que romperam a barreira do tempo e que estão em importantes museus e são admiradas por milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo. Apresento-vos a Vénus de Milo e David de Michelangelo.

Vénus de Milo, também considerada deusa da beleza e do amor. É uma estátua da Grécia Antiga e nunca foi esclarecida a razão para não ter os braços, mas eu até acho que sei a razão!

David de Michelangelo - Herói bíblico que derrotou o Golias. Esta estátua é uma das mais importantes do Renascimento. Devido à sua natureza heróica, ela simboliza o sentimentos de Liberdades civis! Está representado quando se preparava para enfrentar o Golias, numa força impossível de derrotar!

The Venus of Milo, also considered the goddess of beauty and love. It is a statue from Ancient Greece, and the reason for its missing arms has never been clarified, but I think I know why!

Michelangelo’s David—the biblical hero who defeated Goliath. This statue is one of the most important of the Renaissance. Because of its heroic nature, it symbolizes the spirit of civil liberties! He is depicted as he prepared to face Goliath, with a strength that was impossible to defeat!

Apresentados que estão os personagens da letra dos Muse, "Muscle Museum", vamos à letra da canção! Imagino a Vénus de Milo sem braços a querer confessar algo - coitadinha - e para isso tem de fazer músculo com o David de Michelangelo, que continua inteiro e belo, sempre a surpreender quem o admira, uma obra magistral. Talvez o problema da Vénus de Milo ter sido rejeitada por David, depois de se ter exibido , como diz a letra "em qualquer toilet" (talvez a TVI ou terá sido na AR), nesta luta musculada entre a alma e o corpo, só o mais focado e forte vencerá, só o de mais fortes convicções vencerá! Afinal de contas, é fazer músculo entre a vida e a morte! Nesta luta de resistência ao abuso emocional e psicológico, David já venceu o Golias e lá nas alturas em que o colocaram diz para a Vénus, deusa da beleza e do Amor, o seguinte (As frases com que termina a canção):

«E eu vou fazê-lo sozinho

E tu nunca vais conseguir!»
