Look Nº 877 - Internacional Labor's Day!

Bem-vindos meus caros amigos e leitores!

Welcome, my dear friends and readers! Next Thursday, May 1st, is International Workers' Day. More than just a symbolic date, this day spans generations: all the rights that have been won - working hours, rest, sickness and maternity protection - have been achieved through many struggles and sacrifices.

XXI.

It makes sense to keep celebrating this date. Because despite progress, there is still a lot to be done, especially when it comes to the rights of working women. Unequal pay, lack of access to leadership positions, job insecurity and the difficulty of reconciling family life with a career are still realities in the 21st century.
Talvez. Mas aceitar passivamente não é uma opção!

But this year, more than ever, we need to look to the future. A future that has already begun to arrive faster than we imagined. Artificial Intelligence promises to transform the job market and in just a few years, we will see millions of jobs disappear. Many jobs as we know them will simply be replaced by algorithms and robots. Is this inevitable? Perhaps. But passively accepting it is not an option!
É preciso pensar agora no impacto desta revolução.

We now need to think about the impact of this revolution. Who will protect the workers laid off by the machine? Who will guarantee the sustainability of Social Security? I am in favor of making AI pay into the Social Security system for every job eliminated. These are difficult and complex issues, but they are urgent. We can't be caught off guard. May 1st is the perfect time not only to honor the struggles of the past, but also to prepare for the battles of the future!

Because, in the end, progress is only real if it's for everyone and not just for a few!

 FELIZ DIA DO TRABALHADOR!

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Thanks for reading!!!

  1. AI companies should be made to pay for all the damage they do. AI doesn't just steals jobs from workers, it steals from everyone: artists, bloggers, painters, musicians, film makers and so on. Million of people have put endless hours writing article and adding valuable information online, only for it to be stolen by AI companies and corporations.

  7. Dear Marisa (I have to comment like because it is a couple of days that google gives me headaches), first of all, I love this look, it suits you very well. As for work and AI, I myself have some fears and didn't made a full idea on this argument yet. On one side, for a person like me that studied languages and Literature, seeing all these robot translators everywhere that in many cases have huge flaws and hearing about novels written by AI makes me very disappointed and angry. I agree that we should evolve ourselves and continue changing and adapting to the work market but when it comes to talent, I don't think an algorithim will ever come close to what a human mind and heart might create or feel!

  10. Here's to International Labour Day tomorrow! As a musician Jon is very concerned about AI, his union thinks that musicians will lose around a third of their incomes with its every increasing usage. You're quite right, these companies should pay compensation.
On a brighter note your outfit is gorgeous, I love that jacket and your hair is looking fantastic, xxx
