Look Nº 720 - She Wolf!

Hi!! Let it be clear that I have been doing a deep photographic investigation of the Castle of Montemor-o-Velho!!! I have already told you about its wonderful Legend in this post, if you remember!! Today I'm going to tell you about who ordered it to be built or reconstructed, no one knows for sure. It is about a great figure of the region of Coimbra, of its name Don Sesnando. The castle man! It is said that he had built several, Soure, Penela, are some of them! This man was a very important figure in the region, as he managed to pacify it, eliminating the struggles between Christians and Arabs, the region having prospered while he was governor of the city of Coimbra and, do you know what dates I am talking about? So be surprised: between 1064-1091!! Long before the formation of Portugal!

And, as behind a great man there is always an even greater woman! Now I'm going to tell you about Don Sesnando's wife, she has a strong name, Loba (She Wolf), Loba Nunes !! As little is known about her, I imagined her like this, just as I am dressed! What do you think??? Would the Loba (She Wolf) have a personality befitting her name? Do you think I look like a she wolf??

Penso como seriam os dias da Loba! Quais seriam as suas tarefas diárias? Varreria a cozinha? Lavaria a louça? As roupas?? Tudo questões pertinentes à luz do revisionismo histórico e do femininismo!

I think about what Loba's days would be like! What would her daily tasks be? Would she sweep the kitchen? Would she wash the dishes? The clothes?? All pertinent questions in the light of historical revisionism and feminism! It doesn't seem to me that with that name she would dedicate herself to such noble domestic tasks, but rather, she would be the one to give the holy days at home (to give the holy days at home is a Portuguese expression that means that she was in charge at home)ahahah!! For someone who only had one daughter, I believe that she would have a strong influence on her husband, it's a shame not to know how her life was here in the castle, but one thing I'm sure, she contemplated the stunning landscape of the rice fields of the Mondego River!

Now tell me if I don't look like Don Sesnando's wife, the castles man? And who bears this magnificent name of Loba (She Wolf)??

  9. When I read the title of this post I've immediately thought to the Shakira song: I loooove that song, its linked to many good memories of me and my girl friends goiung to the beach singing out loud in the car!^^
But, good memories apart, I didn't know the story behind that famous "castle builder"(and its wife with that cool name): it's so interesting!
