Look Nº 722 - Gold of the Land!

Hi!! Hope everyone is well!” The Former President of the Russian Federation Medvedev recently said, in a delirium, that he would like to form a Eurasia, linking Lisbon (capital of Portugal) to Vladivostok. Well, I have to inform this gentleman that we, in Portugal, don't have richnesses like oil, we don't have gas, we don't have steel, the cereals we produce are insufficient! In short, we are a social zero. We are bankrupt and with a colossal public debt on our backs! Our only wealth are these yellow flowers called Gold of the Land.

Do you like my sweater? It's in crochet, I love handmade work. They have the lifespan of a person embedded in the loops of the thread on the needle, woven by cunning and patient hands! So, regarding manual work, I'm going to present you another part of a cross stitch work I did in 2009. I've already presented a part of that work in this post that you can review. This is a cross-stitch Cartoon designed by me and whose theme is the 2009 State Budget. As we are currently discussing the State Budget for 2022, it seems opportune to show you this work of mine!

1 - Title: The comic in the Assembly of the Republic - episode the financial crisis

2 - Opposition leader Manuela Ferreira Leite - represented by a condom -, who was once Minister of Finance, before the Budget presented has only one word to classify it: Ostentation! What would be confirmed with bankruptcy in 2011!

3 - The President of the Assembly of the Republic, faced with this comment, asks for Control - which happens to be a brand of condoms - in Language and threatens to evacuate the room! I don't know who this figure was at the time, but it doesn't matter, because the way I represented him is an insignificant person, because the only thing I drew was a megaphone!

4 - Another protagonist appears, he is dressed in a T-shirt like the one my nephew had. My nephew's name is Francisco! This one is easy, it's Francisco Louçã, a leftist radical, he has a mask on his face, because despite having the gift of rhetoric, I think he doesn't say everything he thinks! He's juggling dishes, because that's what his party in the Assembly of the Republic has always done, political juggling!

5 - This is the State Budget Table, I didn't represent it with the distinction between political left and right, but as the Last Supper of Christ! Interestingly, I have never represented Prime Minister José Sócrates, this figure has already been arrested on suspicion of corruption and is currently awaiting trial, but he is represented there in different ways! This is the most important frame in the entire cartoon. As you can see, there is one figure that dominates: an octopus! I don't need to explain what an octopus represents. This octopus is drinking coffee with one tentacle, with another it hits castanets and with another it shakes a rattle, all delaying taticts! There is Manuela Ferreira Leite, leader of the opposition, there is Francisco Louçã, the leftist radical. There is a figure in black who is not known, but he is always present at the Budget Table and represents all the obscure and faceless interests that eat at the Budget Table. Then we have a figure in blue, this is Gil, the mascot of Expo98 and represents the history of the country that is made in each Budget. A clown with no eyes follows, who are all the Portuguese blind with these politicians who have governed us since the dictatorship and are on the Budget Table but only as taxpayers. The figure that follows is the Joker, he represents the Television of the Assembly of the Republic, he has long arms and passes the information to the media, the Joker is saying: "Crisis!"And in frame 8, you can see a television with lips that repeat what the Joker said! But it's not over yet, because there are a lot of people eating at the Budget Table! A door follows, a door that represents the right-wing party and its leader Paulo Portas (means Doors) as if it were one and the same thing! And above the door we have a figure that is Zorro (Do you know what Zorro's mark is? Z!!!!) - who steals from the rich to give to the poor - but who will also eat at the Budget Table, it's the Portuguese Communist Party! This is just another one of my coincidences/premonitions!!! This party did not condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine!! And, I didn't explain all the details, but this is already too long!

É a minha opinião desenhada!

6 - We have the "regime" newspapers, Público, Expresso and Sol, which have a chronicle written by an economist (it's me) represented with the figure of a red top hat and the title of his article is: Demagogues!. It's my drawn opinion!

7 - This table represents my view of this 2009 Budget, it's not complete, because there is still a third part of this comic, but I can say that for me something was very wrong and, therefore, there is a orthographic error in the word Aborta SA (means Abortion SA), what would happen in 2011 with budgets of this caliber, a budgetary abortion: Bankruptcy!! If there is an opportunity, I'll show you what's missing from this comic!

This one looks like a small work in the photo, but there are many hours of work, days on end to embroider! It is indeed a huge work!

Regarding the State Budget for 2022, in short, it's to manage the colossal public debt and feed the octopus! So, in the face of this, I don't know what the Russians' interest could be in a insolvent Portugal!

Sweater: Zara

Metaphorically these flowers, the Gold of the Land, represent the people of Portugal, our gastronomy, our Culture, our Language, our History! That's our wealth, nothing that could interest the Russians!
