Look nº 383 - The Miracle of the Roses!

A Rainha Santa Isabel.

As I said here I'm not monarchical, but Portugal was a monarchy until 1910. I don't renege my country's history, in fact I'm proud of it, even when ruled by kings and queens. Many of them men and women of great bravery that made Portugal the world's biggest power together with Spain (century XV). I even wonder, looking to my country today, where are the genes of these people? Where is this genetic inheritance? The "Kings" who govern us today are nothing more than cursed and subservient vassals of banking sector and great interests, often obscure, currently in Portugal we don't live in Democracy, but in a blind Fiscal Dictatorship that confiscates, stripped of, spoil and robs his people.Do you see what I am getting at !! I want to talk about a personality of the Portuguese history who dedicated his life to charity and the poor ones, in short ... to her people !! The Queen St. Isabel.

For her great work and legacy is the patron saint of Coimbra that pays tribute to her for a week, and the 4th of July is the city's holiday, the day of her memory. The people in gratitude worshipping her and she was canonized in 1625. A Confraternity was created - The Confraternity of the Queen St. Isabel - this is one of the oldest in the country, it organizes all religious ceremonies, liturgical acts in her memory. This confraternity counts on the participation of the anonymous people, members of the royal family, University personalities, politicians and important figures of the Portuguese society. Giving continuity to her social work.
Gostaram do meu look? Contem-me tudo nos comentários, vou adorar ler!!

One of his most well-known miracles, and which I have already mentioned here, is the Miracle of the Roses. In that the Holy Queen when bringing bread for the poor turned it into roses when she was questioned by her husband. During the procession there are people who dress as Queen Saint from adults to children. For having been such a noble figure in her acts, I also wanted to honor her memory! And I tried to recreate a Queen Elizabeth of modern times, with this Kimono embroidered with roses! The local commerce in the streets where the procession passes recreate its storefronts in her honor (I show some in the photos). What do you think about my tribute? Did you like my look?Tell me everything in the comments, I'll love to read !!

  28. Hi Marisa! I love your tribute, that kimono looks so beautiful! The miracle of the roses is really fascinating ^^ And with your posts I see Portugal has a lot in common with Spain, we live here in a fake democracy too, we have "freedom with restrictions".. So not free at all, even though politicians try to make us believe we're free, it's a lie. Here try to say loud something bad about Spanish monarchy and see what happens, there are a few singers in prison because of that.. So where's the freedom of speech? It's a fake democracy..
