Em Portugal, o Halloween não é tradicionalmente celebrado como em outros lugares do mundo. A cultura portuguesa tem as suas próprias festividades, como o Carnaval e o Dia de Todos os Santos, que muitas vezes têm um papel mais importante no calendário festivo. No entanto, ao longo dos anos, por influências culturais e comerciais, o Halloween tem vindo a ganhar adeptos, mais nas zonas urbanas e entre as camadas mais jovens! Como este blog é mais internacional que nacional - dizem as estatísticas - eu decidi celebrar o Halloween com uma história de terror e horror!!!
In Portugal, Halloween is not traditionally celebrated in the same way as in other parts of the world. Portuguese culture has its own festivities, such as Carnival and All Saints' Day, which often play a more important role in the festive calendar. However, over the years, due to cultural and commercial influences, Halloween has been gaining followers, more so in urban areas and among the younger generation! As this blog is more international than national - statistics say - I decided to celebrate Halloween with a horror story!!!

Olá, bem-vindos a mais fabuloso post dos Looks da Semana! Nesta estação, o guarda roupa grita (acho que não é a palavra mais adequada) pelas cores da guerra - preto, cinza, castanho. Mas será que esta paleta carrega consigo um mau presságio? Ao explorar a simbologia das cores da penúria e da guerra, questiono-me se estamos inadvertidamente a vestir as cores dos fantasmas do passado, a sério estas cores dão-me arrepios de medo!. Será que podemos trazer luz a estas sombras? Ou estamos presos a um ciclo cromático de nostalgia sombria? Eu recuso-me peremptoriamente a vesti-las!! O que vocês acham das cores desta estação?
Hello, welcome to another fabulous Looks of the Week post! This season, the wardrobe is screaming (I don't think that's the right word) for the colours of war - black, grey, brown. But does this palette carry with it a bad omen? As I explore the symbolism of the colours of hardship and war, I wonder if we are inadvertently wearing the colours of the ghosts of the past - seriously, these colours give me the creeps! Can we bring light to these shadows? Or are we stuck in a colour cycle of gloomy nostalgia? I absolutely refuse to wear them! What do you think of this season's colours?

Vocês são os verdadeiros heróis aqui, os exploradores deste universo cibernético estranhamente maravilhoso. Nao esquecendo aqueles seres que vagueiam pelos confins da internet espalhando negatividade como se fosse uma praga cósmica, sabem a quem me refiro haters!
First of all, I'd like to thank all of you who, over the years, have visited this blog more times than my aunt asks me when I'm going to get a boyfriend hahahah!!! You are the real heroes here, the explorers of this strangely wonderful cyber universe. Not forgetting those beings who roam the confines of the internet spreading negativity as if it were a cosmic plague, you know who I mean haters!
A minha ausência de 8 meses? Ah isso foi só uma viagem intergalática para um spa lunar, onde aprendi a arte do relaxamento em gravidade zero. Sim, eu sei, é um sacrifício manter este nível de intranquilidade espacial.
My 8-month absence? Oh that was just an intergalactic trip to a lunar spa, where I learned the art of relaxation in zero gravity. Yes, I know, it's a sacrifice to maintain this level of spatial unease.
Agora, sobre as mudanças. Decidi que este blog precisava de se reinventar, eu precisava de me reinventar e, isso teria de ser feito de forma tão épica quanto a fibra de um super-herói, por isso escolhi a música do David Bowie - Heroes - para nos acompanhar nesta celebração. Porque cada um de vocês é um herói navegando nos desafios da internet com coragem. Obrigada por serem os heróis desta história! E, por continuarem a visitar este canto do ciberespaço! E, tenham calma eu também sou um heroina por teimosamente continuar a fazer isto há 11 anos, hip hip!!!
Now, about the changes. I decided that this blog needed to reinvent itself, I needed to reinvent myself, and it would have to be done as epically as the fiber of a superhero, so I chose David Bowie's song - Heroes - to accompany us in this celebration.
